Hi all,

I have just updated to the new template tonight and how can I add Top10 and NOAA to this new template?

http://desford-weather.co.uk/index.htm

Any ideas how to correct this?

Thanks.

Looks fine to me, have you cleared your browser cache? (or Ctrl-F5 load each page once)

I have started to Wiki page on the new web site - https://cumuluswiki.org/a/New_Default_W ... nformation - at present it just replicates the announcement post but more information will be added. It has info in there on extending the menu system.

at present you cant use the old style templates as the new webdesign uses "data driven" files rather than processing templates via CumulusMX. the release of the new web design only just out, you'll have to do it yourself, or wait until someone writes a new page for your requirements.

I'm sure it wont be long, but patience is needed.

New templates for the latest MX version should be available shortly. I have uploaded them to Mark. There are three templates: 1 column suitable for your Top10 and your NOAA reports, and a 2 column and 3 column version. You will find that NOAA reports won't display fully on small screens so add <div class="w3-responsive"> and put the NOAA tag inside - probably in a <pre> tag to keep the spacing. The responsive class allows content to be scrolled sideways.

I had followed Mark's direction on adding extra items on the menu and that works well http://www.komokaweather.com/cumulusmx/index.htm
but learned that hard way ;) that it gets replaced with a version update.

Looking forward to Neil's update.

Enjoy,
Paul

Hi Richard

You can’t use the old template pages with the new site. The old site isn’t responsive like the new one.

There are some template files available so that you can add in your own content. Also have a look at the new gauges pages. These are ideal to clone for a NOAA page. I’ll put together some help sheets tomorrow.

Hi Simon,
It seems to be whatever the browser cache wants to show (I don't really understand cache)
http://www.komokaweather.com/cumulusmx/index.htm
http://www.komokaweather.com/cumulusmxwll/index.htm
both have the same modified setpagedata.js

For me now both my sites show current data date and the full moon image but not the same menu. The first site shows my first test modification showing one new menu link to the MXUIwebsite page, and the second shows it with my final modification with new menu link to "Top 10" and a second new menu link "Other Sites" with 3 sites in the pull down and this is what is in the setpagedata.js. I have verified that the /js/setpagedata.js file is identic al in both. Very confusing!!!

Enjoy,
Paul

Hi Simon,
I had to look it up to see what it is, and no I don't think I am using it. I presume it doesn't apply for the Cumulus website files which are not PHP files.

Enjoy,
Paul
