Checking Status of CMX

Hello,

Is there a command that can be used in PuTTy to check the status, i.e. whether Cumulus MX is running on a Raspberry Pi?

I am running Cumulus MX v3.9.7 b3107 on a Raspberry Pi 3B console mode with no Desktop GUI.

Thanks

Andrew

When you say "used in PuTTY" I assume you mean in a terminal session on your Pi.

If you have installed as a service then use

Code: Select all

systemctl status cumulusmx.service
This shows output from system logfiles that show you the status of the service.

If not running as a service then use

Code: Select all

ps -ef | grep -i cumulus | grep -v grep
This searches the process listing for the word "cumulus" (and filters out the search itself). If MX is running it will be reported by this search. If MX isn't running then the search will not return anything.

Note that the second method can be used for both non-service and service installs.

Perfect thanks @freddie. Yes as a terminal session on my rPi, I have much to learn!

CumulusMX is currently not running as a service but I have ordered a rPi 0 for the next step in the project to install Buster Lite + CumulusMX and run it as a service.

Is there a list of these commands or an online resource that explains the different commands used in a terminal session?

The terminal used on the pi is called Bash (Bourn Again SHell, I believe). Here is a resource to look at. There are literally loads out there :)
