Upgrading from Cumulus Cumulus MX 3.9.4 (build 3099) to 3.9.7 (build 3107)

I have made major changes to my system over recent months, but everything seems settled and running smoothly so I have suddenly become quite nervous about the simple process upgrading from Cumulus Cumulus MX 3.9.4 (build 3099) to 3.9.7 (build 3107)
.
What common sense tells me is to follow the process below that I recall using with Cumulus 1 over the years.

1: Download and unzip the upgrade 3.9.7 (build 3107) to a folder.
2: Turn off Cumulus
3: Rename the old Cumulus Folder CumulusMXOLD
4: Copy the new CumulusMX folder to the C: drive.
5: Copy the content of the
“Data”,
“Backup”
and “MXutils” folders from the CumulusMXOLD folder to the new CumulusMX folder.
6: Copy the "cumulus.ini" file from CumulusMXOLD to the new CumulusMX folder
7: Restart!

Would this result in a successful update?

Yes. But there are three things to consider:

1. No need to copy over old MXutils folder.
2. If you generate NOAA reports then copy across the contents of your old Reports folder.
3. If you have customised the standard website files in the old web folder then you will need to transfer your customisations to the files in your new web folder.

Thanks for reminding me about the website files as I have adapted them so will have to do as you suggest.

As for NOAA reports. I havn't been generating or using this feature of MX so I presume would have to go back to 2009 and generate monthly and annual reports. I think I'd rather just copy over my Data Folder.

I follow this procedure but I rename the new web-folder (not overwrite it) so I later can look at the files if there is anything new in them I should upgrade my modified files with.
