Cannot view updated pages - after house move

This is a browser issuse I am sure.
I hove moved house and relocated my WS.
Obviously there was some downtime during the move.
Whilst my site was down I put up a temporary index page to indicate what was going on.

My WS is now ip and running and MX is uploading curent files (I have viewed them in Filezilla) and the latest files open fine when downloaded and viewed locally.

No matter what browser I use all I seem to be able to see are the pages that were last uploaded before the move.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

I have tried forcing a refresh and deleted cached files.
I am using a mix of MAC/PC and Chrome / Safari / Firefox.

If the link below resolves to current data at least I will know I am not going mad !

www.geoffwebber.co.uk/weather

Cheers

Hi,
http://www.geoffwebber.co.uk/weather/index.htm shows the template with an update of 22/01/2021 10:06:00
I have never been to your site so not likely a browser cache issue.

http://www.geoffwebber.co.uk/weather/ shows the notice (index.html)
So it appears the template index.htm along with the other standard template files are not being updated.
In FileZilla on your remote site have you tried to right click on the file(s) and View/Edit and is that the current or Jan 22 date?

Your Weathercloud site is current https://app.weathercloud.net/d0094813170#evolution so Cumulus appears to be updating.

Enjoy,
Paul

Hi paul

I'm totally confused now.
I have changed nothing on the MX upload pathing.
If I look at the files on the FTP site they are what I would expect - dates and times are current.
If I browse to www.geoffwebber.co.uk/weather/realtime.txt

The data starts with this... 22/01/21 10:06:54
If I download the file from the ftp site - the URL path for this is sftp://ftp%2540geoffwebber.co.uk@94.136.40.103/public_html/weather/realtime.txt

I get the correct data.

I am beginning to think there must be a DNS issue, which is somehow finding an alternate version of the data.
I have deleted the temporary index file so I know it cannot be accessed.
I have also uploaded a test file to my FTP folders, when I try to browse it I get a 404 error.

I am going to raise a ticket with my ISP

BTW - the Ditcheat school site is not my personal site. Thats one I set up for the local primary school.

Hi,
It sounds like there may be some issue with your hosting then and am not familiar with that at all. One more thing I would try is to FileZilla FTP the latest processed \web\index.htm and some of the other processed T files and then try those from a browser.

Enjoy,
Paul

Hi Geoff

I think the problem is you have index.htm and index.html in the same directory and the html will take precedence. You should really only have one index file.

Rename the index.html in Filezilla to oldindex.html and try again.

Preference of index.* is indicated by "DirectoryIndex"

.htaccess file

Code: Select all

DirectoryIndex index.php index.htm
https://www.conligwx.org/ goes to index.php

https://www.conligwx.org/index.htm loads a different index.

Can you confirm that CumulusMX is uploading data via ftp (or whatever method) to your website.

http://www.geoffwebber.co.uk/weather/realtime.txt

show the last time it was updated. 22/01/21 10:06:54 - perhaps you have a filter/firewall rule that only accept incoming ftp traffic from your old ip address perhaps?

Please ZIP up your MXDiags folder and post here.

sftp://ftp%2540geoffwebber.co.uk@94.136.40.103/public_html/weather/realtime.txt
I am unfamiliar with sftp formats, and if the address failed to login I would have thought filezilla would tell you ?

Thoughts ... You say you have moved. Has your IP address changed ? - I assume @94.136.40.103/ is valid ? (says 123-reg site expired)

As Simon says, the index priority can be set. And you can have more than one index file. In my http://www.komokaweather.com/cumulusmx I have index.htm index.html and index.php each for their own template pages. It requires the full url including the specific index extension to display a particular template set.
If I look at the files on the FTP site they are what I would expect - dates and times are current.
If I browse to www.geoffwebber.co.uk/weather/realtime.txt

I get the correct data.
From this it appears the current updated files are not accessible and would presume it is at the hoster's site.

EDIT:
I just did a Whois: 94.136.40.103 and got
IP 94.136.40.103 is a malware infected site/server (with trojans, fake AV, zeus and other malicious content) and it's possibly dangerous to visit this site!
Likely the issue?

Enjoy,
Paul

I dont know either about sftp, but guessing the sftp certificate may need to be renewed since you're now at a different location.

@mcrossley ?

Shouldn't make any difference. Is it possible that there is a restriction on which ip addresses can connect to the server? That is a more likely consequence of moving house.
