Error upgrading to build 3101

Ok, I tried.

Yes, Home has the performance monitor but for some reason I can not reach system / system up time along your instructions. Part of that is that everything gets lost in translation to Dutch and as such also the alphabetical order. The Tower of Babel has been rebuilt
But I get what you're aiming at, I will search further. Looked at but never used this tool, a bit too detailed to my taste.

Thanks Mark and Hans for the extra information. The system is up to date with patches, but I think you've hit the nail on the head with the performance counters. The "System" counters are not present in perfmon (although lots of other subsystems are).

I've found some articles on how to rebuild the performance counters and will work through those when I get some time and let you know the outcome.

I gather that the call to the system uptime counter is a recent addition since 3093 ? Is there a way that it can be error trapped or bypassed so that it isn't fatal to CMX startup ?

I don't think it is very recent but i think this is further for Mark to handle. It is strange that it suddenly occurred after an update.
Something must has happened to the infrastructure.
Anyway... Good luck, the pain has been pointed at.

Ok, that was it!!

I had to rebuild the counters by running the following in the two directories from a cmd prompt with elevated privileges:

C:\Windows\SysWOW64>lodctr /R
C:\Windows\SysWOW64>winmgmt.exe /RESYNCPERF
C:\Windows\SysWOW64>cd ..\system32
C:\Windows\system32>lodctr /R

Build 3107 is now running happily!

(yes, I was having issues with my FTP provider, but that's an unrelated issue)
