Correct way to shutdown CumulusMX

Hi folks.
I have just installed CMX on a Windows 10 computer.
I'm a bit worried about best way to stop CMX when needed.
I understand that using a simple 'kill' is not a good idea.
Ctrl-c in the program windows is the preferred method.
But how about Windows Update?
I have disabled automatic restart, but the system does reboot itself every now and then anyway.
How does CMX react to such a reboot?
Can I hope for such a reboot being a graceful one, and not just 'killing' the running processes?
If I would like to perform a scheduled shutdown of either CMX or the whole system, what would be the safest way to do so?
Not to mention a power failure.
But I don't see any way to safe guard against that besides a UPS.
How do You guys handle these things?
Best regards
