Welcome to the Cumulus Support forum.

Latest Cumulus MX V4 release 4.0.1 (build 4023) - 16 May 2024

(Note that 4.1.0 (build 4024) - 05 June 2024 remains available, but usage of this version is not recommended - particularly for Davis stations - and the included utility in this distribution for migrating to v4 is known to contain errors affecting conversion of dayfile.txt)

Latest Cumulus MX V3 release 3.28.6 (build 3283) - 21 March 2024

Legacy Cumulus 1 release 1.9.4 (build 1099) - 28 November 2014
(a patch is available for 1.9.4 build 1099 that extends the date range of drop-down menus to 2030)

Lost updates to Cumulus

Post by aznetcowboy »

I don't know what happened, but all of a sudden Cumulus is not updating even though the Davis Vantage Pro2 is collecting the data from the outdoor weather unit. my WeatherLink unit seems to be collecting data okay as the green light is flashing as it should be. I had changed the IP number from 192.168.0.102 to 192.168.1.102 some time ago (I forget how I did it) and it was working fine connecting via my Netgear router for well over 18 months.

Question? As I forget how I modified the address, so I am not certain if it get changed somehow in the past few days. How can I check it to make sure it is still addressed as the 1.102 and not the 0.102? :?:

Hi,
You can check or edit in Settings -> Station settings - TCP/IP settings - IP address

Just to understand, is CumulusMX running but no data on the dashboard?
Checking your MXdiags may give you some more information.

Enjoy,
Paul

can you confirm that your weatherlink "unit" (live???) has a static IP address and not DHCP leased?

Paul, in the cumulus station configuration the IP is 192.168.1.102. Also, I am running Cumulus, not CumulusMX.

As for ConfigMX, the WeatherLink unit is flashing. The tag on the unit says the Device ID (DID) is 001D0A006EA5, but when I try the method to update the static IP, it fails every time. The command to update as found on the Davis site says to use the following command:
arp -s 192.168.xxx.xxx 00-1D-0A-00-23-25 (That is arp{space}-s{space}192.168.xxx.xxx{space}00-1D-0A-00-23-25)

I have entered and tried "arp -s 192.168.X.XXX 00-1D-0A-00-6E-A5" several times with 1.102 & 0.102 several times. No go. I get an error saying:
The ARP entry addition failed: The requested operation requires elevation

Oh yes, the Vantage Pro2 console is displaying the correct information for the weather station.

That means you have to start the command prompt in "Run as an administrator" mode before you enter the command.
