Cumulus Support

Cumulus MX 3.9.4 Stopped updating after 21st January: It is updating the dashboard and the website but not the dayfile.txt file,or the charts for daily temp and rainfall.

Looking at the MDdiag readings there seem a host of errors from then on.

It becomes odder. I have just restarted my computer this morning and the Dafile.txt has another entry. the 25th. So it has jumped from the 21st to the 25th missing out entries for the interveneing days.

What I am doing differently since upgrading my weather station earlier in the month is turning off the computer over night. Luckily I have the missing data downloadable from WeatherLink!

When you start Cumulus each morning the internet is not available for 20 odd minutes so the catch-up is failing to connect to WeatherLink.com.
Are you powering off your router as well?

As the WLL relies on Cloud access to get it's historic data you need to check your internet is up and running before starting Cumulus.

If you update to the latest version of Cumulus then you can specify a "PING check" on program start up, if you put "www.weatherlink.com" in there, Cumulus will wait until the internet connection is available and it can contact that site before going any further.

Again my fault. Up until recently the weather station has been on a old laptop permanently on. I recenly decided it was too wasteful and moved Cumulus to my desktop that goes off over night. To save having to manually start Cumulus each morning I put it in my Start Menus so it came on automatically.

On top of this - trouble with my network last week resulted in a few days 22nd/23rd/24th of manually starting the internet connection each morning, not thinking of the impact on Cumulus. All is now sorted except I will have to create the missing data in Dayfil.txt from the WeatherLink data.

Just stop cumulus, restore the data backup from the 21st, start Cumulus again and it will download all your history data from wl.com
