6.0mm of rain vanished this afternoon

My dashboard was reading 6.0mm when I took the dogs out after lunch and when I got back it was reading 0.0mm. Weather link was registering the 6.00mm that has fallen since the early hours.

I've amended the reading using "Edit" option in Dashboard. and can see rain entries throughout the night and early morning in Jan21og.txt.

Can you post the MXdiags file, there is not much to go on otherwise.

You also seem to have no daily data being plotted on your web site?

Not sure what you mean re-my website. The seems to be being updated by MX without any issues.

Attached my MX diags

your dayfile seems to be corrupt. just look at your mxdiag logs. it could be due to the Window 10 format settings of units perhaps. (only guessing)

Thanks. I must have done something yesterday to trigger, but can't think what. I'll keep an eye of things and see what happens . All is well now.

That's a lot of Cumulus restarts!

Yes you need to look at your dayfile.

But the rain counter got reset.

12/01/21 06:45 - The station rain counter = 934.8
12/01/21 06:54 - The station rain counter = 2.6

So did you reset the annual rainfall on WeatherLink.com at that point?

Cumulus coped OK with this and reset it's internal counter to match.

Cumulus was then shutdown at 12:22 and restarted at 12:23

That is when things go wrong, it seems that MX struggles to cope if it is restarted in the same day after the station rain counter is reset.
I haven't ever looked in-depth at the rain counter code before, but I think I can see the problem and a solution to stop it happening again.

THREE BIG ISSUES COMBINED MARK, MOVING FROM 'HTTP' TO 'HTTPS', MAKING A NEW AND CLEAN INSTALATION OF THE LATEST CUMULUS MX AND SETTING UP A NEW STATION (DAVIS VANTAGE VUE) AND SO HAVING TO MASTER WEATHERLINK COMBINED TO MEAN THERE WERE A LOT OF CHANGES GOING ON

WILL DO

But the rain counter got reset.

CAN'T PIN DOWN WHAT I WAS UP TO THEN

NOT INTENTIONALLY
Cumulus coped OK with this and reset it's internal counter to match.

THAT WAS THE POINT, I THINK WHERE I DISCOVERED THAT MY NEW VERSION OF CULUMUS DIDN'T HAVE REALTIME.TXT AND i HAD TO PROMPT IT THROUGH THE SETTINGS TO CREATE IT

That is when things go wrong, it seems that MX struggles to cope if it is restarted in the same day after the station rain counter is reset.

EVERYTHING SEEMS OK NOW THE ONLY ISSUE I AM HAVE IS COSMETIC REALLY - GETTING SIGNATURE BANNER TO UPDATE!

THANKS FOR YOUR TIME!

No problem, at least it highlighted a bug that needed fixing
