Hi Steve, was just using weatherlink before I opened cumulus for the day - when I did the settings were reported as incorrect (I assume since WL was communicating with the station), so closed WL and opened settings again in CU and hit OK. Looks like I should have closed and then re-opened?, as my yesterday.ini file got overwritten with extremes only from about 23.00-00.00 yesterday (I have now edited this back to what it should be). Also I'm getting "-0.8mm" for today's rain, I have made sure it has 0.0 for today in the dayfile.txt and the Dec09 log has no zero rain values....
Yesterday's rain was 0.8mm so at midnight it must have subtracted that 0.8 twice because of how I started up cumulus this morning?

Re: strange rain value
It will have got seriously confused because you didn't just close it down again. It copes with not being able to talk to the station at start up - it makes sure it doesn't log anything (well, that's the theory, anyway). The settings didn't need anything doing to them as they were correct, so I'm not sure exactly what it does do in this situation, it's not really expected and not something I have intentionally catered for.
I don't understand how you have corrected today's rain in dayfile.txt as there isn't an entry for today in there. To correct today's total, you need to edit the Start= value in today.ini, if you've had zero today set it to the same value as the total rainfall counter in dec09log.txt.

Actually, the best approach when any sort of start up problem occurs which affects the data, is to restart using the backup that would have been created.

Re: strange rain value
It had created an entry for today in the dayfile, but I removed it now.
Today.ini has the right start value (about 17.8), but I have been getting a mix of 17.0 and 17.8 in my Dec09 log. I will just leave it I think and edit the dayfile.txt tomorrow to fix the daily total.
