Station map WWW
Hello, I liked the option to see the other stations, so since I know that the option has disappeared, we could publish the web addresses of the other stations in a thread, right? (Whoever wants, of course ...) Well, I leave it up to you and to Hans, who is the boss
. Greetings and thank you..

Re: Station map WWW
I suppose one (of several) reason HansR is dropping the Stations map is because this http://www.beteljuice.co.uk/CuMap/index.php
could be an official Cumulus User Map some day.

@krash:
First of all, thanks for appreciating the Map. I liked it myself very much which was the main reason for starting it and I am sorry to have to let it go. There were some nice techniques involved too
It asked too much attention because it corrupted the map database too often of internet failures. It needed a complex error recovery scheme to keep it all functioning automaticly. It wasn't flawless and as a result unexpected crashes occurred, inhibiting most modules to complete and that was unacceptable: it is the weather info which is first goal of course.
However, I am already thinking of bringing it back in some other form of manual or semi-automatic maintenance.
I'll get back on this shortly, but probably not before Christmas.
In the mean time for all : enjoy the weather during Christmas and make something of 2021 (with or without lockdown!).

Re: Station map WWW
No @sutne see my answer to @krash. That map, though nice, does not make a distinction between tools and it does not make it an easy access because the popup disappears after a short time. This does not make it fit for what I had in mind. True that at the time of creation there was no overview of cumulus users at all and I had difficulty finding my first users. I tried to have easy and quick access to the other sites with a similar weather display to look at the differences. I needed that to interpret my pwsFWI (which started the whole exercise of CumulusUtilssutne wrote: ↑Fri 18 Dec 2020 2:02 pm I suppose one (of several) reason HansR is dropping the Stations map is because this http://www.beteljuice.co.uk/CuMap/index.php

I still find it very appealing to have a map and in 10 minutes hop around the world to see different weather and different extremes.
It is very educational. And the same holds for the recent and new Air Quality (only for some users).
I will bring back the map but in another technique, without locking and abundant internet access for realtime map creation, so it may fail but never fatal.
