Dark Sky API

Post by grwkak »

Looked on the forum, did not see anything on this topic.
As I understand it the Dark Sky API is good through the end of 2021. Any plans to replace that part of the template?

Since DarkSky was acquired by Apple, they stopped issuing API keys, and any existing API keys would only work through 2021 year-end.

The CU-HWS template also supports AerisWeather forecasts (which are English only), and you can acquire a key to use them, and if you have a station submitting data to WeatherUnderground, then a free key from them will also get you a forecast. The DarkSky script will be deprecated when the existing key no longer works.
