Sort of working . . .

Hi
I've been using Cumulus 1 for ages . . . .and have been very impressed with it.
Unfortunately, my web host switched to SFTP and so my station stopped uploading.
I took the brave step of switching to MX and so far have been impressed.
Particularly with the separate admin function. This is good as I run Cumulus on a cheap Windows tablet
Now I can do the admin in comfort on a laptop or even a phone.
There were teething problems but I followed the excellent wiki pages to do the transition.
It works if I do a FTP!NOW and all the data gets uploaded but it doesn't seem to do it automatically
And it's stuck - it doesn't seem to be collecting data immediately . . . the "engine" reports to have found the station and is running normally . .
I'll probably do the usual and switch it all off and back on again!

Ah, the switch off and on solved the data collecting but it's not as yet uploading . . .I take it the interval of 15 means minutes??

Hi
It seems to have stuck - i.e. it's not reading data from the station . . . and the website is not being updated , , ,
FTP!NOW works . . .

Start cumulus using the -debug command line parameter, let it run for a little while then post the latest MXdiags file.

It looks like the classic FineOffset not reading the data issue.

Try power cycling your console. That means batteries out and USB disconnected for at least 10 seconds. Then try again.

Yes, simple and cheap kit but a few drawbacks . . .I used to live on a narrowboat and put the sensors up where ever we went . . .talk about making a rod for my back!

I reset the PC's time to exactly the same as the station - that seems to have fixed it! Cumulus 1 would cope but MX seems to want things more precise.

Thanks for helping . . .!

Steve

Yes it all seems to be working, except the gauges, does it need the real time enabled for that?

Yes it does as this is the only way to get the latest results to the gauges on your website.

Your site has the "template" file uploaded likely by mistake. http://weather.vivatek.co.uk/realtimegaugesT.txt
In your Internet settings you also need to Enable Realtimegauges.txt FTP and then CumulusMX will uploaded the actual data for the gauges.

Enjoy,
Paul
