Possible bug in data update in C1.8.9

Post by Repairman77 »

Just a small bug noticed on 1.8.9; not sure if it affects all users.

Updated to 1.8.9 (installed over 1.8.8) at 8.30am this morning and all appeared to work.

Viewing graphs this afternoon I noticed the 'Graphs' page was OK and updated to 2.30pm, however the 'select-o-graph' page only showed data from 8.30am yesterday till 8.30am today, clicking on 'Update' button did nothing.
Shut down and relaunched program and all was back to normal; not sure what happened there?
Would only be a problem for someone who updated and left it running without ever rebooting computer or never relaunched program.

It's not clear to me what you're saying is a bug. Did it not display different data even though you changed the start and end times?

Select-A-Graph sets the default end time to 'Now', and the default start time to 24 hours ago, the first time you open it in a session; thereafter the times are only changed if the user specifically changes them uses the start and end selectors.

None of this has changed in 1.8.9.

Sorry if I misunderstood.
If you open 'select-o-graph' at the beginning of a session it shows all the data up to the present time and the start time 24 hours before.
If you open it later in the session, I expected it to show the data up to the present time; just been playing with that and noticed that you have to alter the finish time manually. Maybe worth doing an auto update to 'now' on opening select-o-graph at any time perhaps as most people, I think, would prefer to see the latest data (and last 24 hours). What is the function of the 'Update' button?

Sorry, I hadn't seen that anomaly before; and assumed it was a bug with the latest update. Showing my age again. :(

The update button changes the display once you have selected your required dates. the display deliberately doesn't automatically change to 'now' every time you open it so that you still get to see whatever graphs you had set up the last time you had it open, and I don't want to change that. I did think about having a 'last 24 hours' button, and I might go ahead and do that, as it's very easy...

That would be excellent Steve; I would use that a lot. :)
