Alarm weirdness

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Alarm weirdness

Post by Mapantz »

I have set a high gust alarm, but no sounds are made when it gets activated, despite the settings being checked.

I get this instead:

I click it, it goes away, then it reappears.

It's because browsers are no longer allowed to play sounds from web pages without user permission. Chrome "learns" that you want to allow pages to play sound automatically if you click the button. It may take a few times before you can persuade it though. :bash:

I've probably clicked that button 500 times, but it does nothing.

I'm using Edge (Chrome) as my main browser, but I have tried Chrome and Brave, and it's the same thing.

I'm just wondering how hard it would be to implement desktop notifications? That seems to be the way forward these days. Many forums have now switched over to that method, reddit etc
