Well, searching for ForceVPBarUpdate points to the Cumulus.ini entry and the version 3.0.0 entry.
Neither gives the version of the firmware from which this can be set to false.

Anyway, I assume my 1.73 is very old, it has always been set to true (1)
And anyway, the fix in build 3094 works while the value is set to true so I leave it as it is.

You need to search a bit harder :D One multi-word search and five minutes reading shows me that the original problem was that the hardware (the pressure sensor itself) only allowed 15-min updates, which could be worked around (on the console) by pressing the "Bar" button on the console twice. Davis then published that their serial command BARREAD would have the same effect. They didn't implement this straight away in the DLL that Steve Loft used to query the console, so he found a work-around that went into a Cumulus 1 beta version back in 2008.

Now I am curious for that multi-word search ;)
I found what you cited. But I did not find the firmware version nr.
So it is still not clear to me from which firmware version on this parameter can/must be 0.

But never mind, the whole thing works again :D

I didn't make it clear in my answer that there was no firmware change. It was the usage of BARREAD that allowed more frequent updates on older hardware. Newer hardware provides updated readings at a more frequent interval without the need for additional BARREAD calls. It is my impression from the thread that the new hardware was introduced around 2005.
