A good time to change your sensor batteries?

For UK users, there is some serious cold weather heading our way, might be a good time to check batteries, we don’t want to miss recording this cold spell now do we
Or end up messing about trying to change duff batteries in a biting easterly gale

Good advice. Mine have been in for about 18 months, but I used a recent opportunity when I was relocating the instruments to clean all the sensors and replace batteries

Never mind the sensor batteries I just had to change by three year old car battery as that died in the cold snap

I always wrap my car battery in a "Heat Reflective" blanket (the type you stick on the wall behind radiatiors) they are the only ones that are "Fire resistant" Got one on my Discovery now....................However, on my Mercedes it took me at least a month to even FIND the battery.............I looked in the Engine bay .............NOT THERE................I looked in the Boot.............NOT THERE ...........

Would you believe it, it's UNDER THE BACK SEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!! apprantly, Mercedes put them there just to overcome the "Flat in Cold Weather" syndrome.

That's where the batteries are in my MGB GT (two 6V ones). Well, they would be there if I hadn't had to abandon my restoration because of Cumulus...

Here in Victoria AU, and as I guess most countries around our globe would, have a "Change your clock, Change your smoke alarm battery" at the end of daylight savings promoted by the government and the fire service to keep the smoke alarms in our homes working.

Maybe we could have a "Change your clock, Change your smoke alarm _and_ weather station battery" at the end of daylight saving. I think this is a good thing and I will be changing both at the end of our summer.

Even if you don't change your "Weather station Battery' be sure to change your smoke alarm battery.

Been looking at lithium cells. These are of much greater capacity and much longer lasting than alkaline ones and are available in the same size and voltage viz. AA 1.5v A pack of six Energizer batteries is available through Amazon.co.uk for £4.90. They also do PP9 versions as used in many smoke and CO alarms.
