Re: *** Data input appears to have stopped
Thanks for the report. Unfortunately the file with debug data doesn't show a failure.
It appears you experienced some network disconnects. I see after one of them the FTP was trying to reconnect using an IPv6 address and the remote server was rejecting the connection. We have seen this before, if you aren't using IPv6 the solution was to disable IPv6 as it looks like the FTP service at the remote end is only bound to IPv4.
As for the station connection it seems to have got into a state where no data is being downloaded but MX is not detecting that the connection is bad. It is really hard to simulate these situations to test the code, I'll have a look and see what can be done.
Meantime please leave MX running with the debugging enabled and post the log if you get another failure.

If I may add my observations to this thread as I think it has similar root cause.
My MXdiags is filled with lines like these but data seem to be correctly written to the monthly and daily log files.

Re: *** Data input appears to have stopped
Thanks, as you say it happened twice, and then carried on. I'll take a look at this and see what the code does again. At the very least it should output a message saying what it is doing.hvd51 wrote: ↑Tue 25 Aug 2020 5:58 pm @Mark

Different issue, the ACK from the loop 2 request does seem to be a bit dodgy. I'll have another look at this too and see if its something I'm doing or the console. Its actually the same function that initiates a loop1 or a loop2 request (just the command is different), and it works perfectly every time for loop1 requests.

Re: *** Data input appears to have stopped
Something went wrong in the serial port code. The new version of MX (3.8.3) should handle this more gracefully and attempt to recover from it.
