A lot is being written about the wildfires around LA and indeed those are huge in surface burnt and intensity and loss of life.
However, that area is not strange to wild fires because of vegetation and draughts. Then somebody comes with the argument of fire resistant structures. That seems a technical solution - if possible - to an inherent human stupidity: building in an area where you can wait for fires.
