Re: For New Users
Hi Drew
Have you looked at the CMX settings in particular Settings > Station Settings > General Settings > Location > Altitude. Here there is a choice for the altitude in numbers as well as the altitude units either metric or imperial.
Once you have checked this and reset and saved any changes if necessary you will need to rerun CUtils website update from your normal update point.
I hope this helps.

I double checked that setting on both stations, and it is set for feet.

Re: For New Users
Thank you Hans! No rush on that...I appreciate all your hard work on this project!!
I can't wait to install more weather stations around the region and use this template for each!

Thanks for using CUtils.
Elevation showing in feet with m as unit obviously is a bug. Strangely nobody noticed before. I am currently not at the computer but will be back in a few fays and fix that.
That date format I have to lookup so will get back to that. It may have to do with the international setting: en-US. If that fails I think it has been overlooked somewhere.
When back I'll be in touch.

Re: For New Users
@Drew: attached you find a patch (beta 2) for 6.14.3 which has the unit fixed for the elevation.
It will be finalised in the future 6.14.3 release.
Wrt the date, that is a bit more complicated. I made the choice to have the date as short as possible and because the realtime date (in the clocks panel) comes directly from the realtime.txt and has a fixed (default) format (I think, I just asked for confirmation of that) I used that format all over the CUtils website (and modules like pwsFWI and Records). Space for a date is limited so not all formats can be accepted. No locale formatting is used in this context.
Some formats might be allowed but all dates which can be seen in the website need to be reworked and the format needs to be parameterized and it would require some specific javascript coding to allow for the 'realtime date' to be converted to 'mm-dd-yyyy'. So for the short term this would be a no. A choice between e.g. imperial and EU date formats could be implemented though but that won't be done tomorrow and I would really have to think this over to do this efficiently.
As may follow from the above: the Date is not parameterised
Good to hear!

Re: For New Users
@Drew: I checked your Lawrenceburg, TN site and I must say that I do not fully understand the configuration of the dashboard. Especially the 11th panel (standard Humidity, now Pressure) has a strange configuration. Pressure units can never be in (maybe inHg). So I am a bit confused by what I see. And if I read it well you have a pressure unit of hPa.
And the pressure is always value 30
I also need to rework the heatmap (Graphs, Temperature) for degree F.

Re: For New Users
Hi Hans
I just checked the latest Beta version.
Initially I took my v6142 setup and changed the CMX location height from meters to feet, ran the website update and cleared the internet cache, net result no change.
Next I loaded the v6143 beta 2 ran the website update with the CMX unchanged from the initial test, cleared the internet cache and the net result was a change on the website from meters to feet which was the expected correct result.
Next I changed CMX location back to meters reran the website update cleared the cache and noted the correct height value in meters.
Result the update works well

Re: For New Users
@Drew: I fixed the heatmap and the pressure unit in the Pressure panel is clear: it is CMX which puts that in the realtime.txt so that is not your problem. It will be fixed either through CMX or by some changes on my side.HansR wrote: ↑Thu 17 Nov 2022 7:36 pm @Drew: I checked your Lawrenceburg, TN site and I must say that I do not fully understand the configuration of the dashboard. I also need to rework the heatmap (Graphs, Temperature) for degree F.
Can you explain the pressure value?
[EDIT:] It seems as if you changed units somewhere: CMX thinks it is inHg while CUtils (which takes the units from CMX inifile) thinks it is hPa. That is weird. Can you tell me what the value is of the inifile parameter PressUnit in your Cumulus.ini?
[EDIT:] That pressure unit seems fixed, don't bother. For one reason or another CUtils looked for the parameter PressUnit iso PressureUnit. Regard this fixed in the next release.
If you have additional small issues related to imperial values please let me know. I'll fix those and create an 'imperial fix'-release.

Re: For New Users
I’ve updated both my stations and now have ft on the header elevation. Thanks!
The only other imperial issue I’ve noticed is the inHg pressure rounding on the records screens. It shows correctly with 2 decimal places on the main screen, but rounds to the whole number with no decimals on the records pages.
Like before, no worries with this and no rush to fix. I’m just thrilled to have so much information at my fingertips!
Thank you again!

Re: For New Users
Hi Drew,
OK. That should be resolved with the correct reading of the pressure unit.
I'll create a release today to fix the small 'imperial' issues, make sure you subscribed to the release topic so you get notified. You're the first to use an all imperial setup so you may find some other small things. Don't hesitate to report.
Do I understand correctly that the date 'as is' is acceptable?

Yes, the date format is fine. Definitely not a major concern to me!

Re: For New Users
Great.
Something will follow though, I am not happy yet with the Y-axis of pressure.
Also when looking through the site please note the following advise:
Something will follow though, I am not happy yet with the Y-axis of pressure.
Also when looking through the site please note the following advise:
- I notice you have no solar (you switched that off). You can take it out of the charts as well by editing CutilsCharts.def (see the ChartsCompiler). You might get yourself acquainted with that feature or simply stick with the default file as it comes in the distribution.
- The same way you can remove the inside temperature and humidity (which apparently are not present in the datafiles) or you can switch those data on in CMX to be delivered in the data.
- In some way you defined extra sensors without having one. This produces an empty menu choice. Check the Cutils parameter ExtraSensors (must be false) and the CMX settings for Extra Sensors. Also check the Airlink settings (no arlink present)
- In the YADR Rain table the day values have only one digit while for inches it should be two digits as there are in the statistics below. I have as yet no explanation for it. Could you post your dayfile.txt, it might be CMX is storing only one digit for inHg while I think it must be two.
- You should set your NOAA=>Report Options=>Text Encoding in CMX to UTF8 (tick it)
- You might want to adjust the Wind charts (see the wiki for this)
