Hi there

As a fairly new CUtils user, Aug 2021, and CMX user 2019 my experience may help.

Initially I used CUtils to run a local site to give me experience in dealing with the process. Then in November 2021 I migrated my site to a nano site with HostPresto. After paying a subscription and setting up the site name I transferred the necessary files to the new provider and after about 6hrs I was able to see my site on the public web.

The transfer of data and files is very easy using crontab jobs and some CMX ftp jobs, it seems quite seamless and I have not had any issues with data limits.

As others have mentioned I am not sure about IONOS comments on CMX being a 3rd party provider, the site is generated using CUtils with CMX being a data collector for CUtils.

I hope this information helps

@Paul C: & @Gerrit: (and all new users btw :) )

While configuring CUtils, you may find that complex in the beginning. Therefore I started a HowTo series of threads, of which two currently exist, to tackle common issues I see when configuring. To your advantage. Other topics may follow irregularly, also depending on questions. On the other hand: the wiki is your friend.

1) How To: the relation between the Windgraphs
2) How to: Monthly graphs

[EDIT2:] Aha... @freddie jumped in already: thanks!
IONOS are really good - I've been with them since 2014 when they were 1&1. This forum runs on an IONOS server :)

Unfortunately, still problems with the additional sensors, and da airlink
The data cannot be seen in the table
the graphs do show the airlink, but in the table I see nothing,

In extra webfils I have the following.

Local file name Destination file name
C:\CumulusMX/utils extrasensorsrealtime.txt
C:\CumulusMX/utils airlinkrealtime.txt

Hi Gerrit,

The local filename must be utils/extrasensorsrealtime.txt (or indeed the full path as you use)
The same holds for the airlinkrealtime.txt.

Then the destination filename must be public_html/utils/extrasensorsrealtime.txt because CMX uploads it directly to the website destination.
The same holds for the airlinkrealtime.txt.

To see the extrasensors charts, you must make use of the ChartsCompiler (see the wiki). Don't get scared, just use the CutilsCharts-default-for-use.def from the distribution and copy it to the utils directory where all other files are. Rename it to CutilsCharts.def (case dependent). Run utils/bin/cumulusutils.exe website and the magic should happen.

From then on you will have Home charts like on my site. Don't bother at the moment about how to define your own charts. You do that when you feel comfortable about what you have and want to change and add things.

In the cumulusutils.ini you leave the following parameters as they are:

Code: Select all

CleanupExtraSensorslog=false
UserModificationExtraSensorCharts=true
ExternalExtraSensors=
and change them if you know what you want to do and how to do that.

Step by Step.

It worked, now let's first start setting the graphics, colors and translations, then it will be something :D

Ok :D
But I don't see the charts with the extra sensors nor the chartscompiler charts.
Do I miss something?

@gerrit: And why does the airlink chart stop at sunday evening?

I thought it was fine last night, I'll take a look at it tomorrow.
with the bottom sensors, I didn't see a graph at all, and thought it wasn't there then.

Gerrit
So something is not right with the graphs, that's pretty clear.
I performed the operation as described this afternoon, if I have time tomorrow I'll take a look at that.

You use the command:

Code: Select all

utils/bin/cumulusutils.exe [website]
Remove the square brackets. They are used in the wiki to indicate an optional argument.
You are not supposed to type them.
So it becomes:

Code: Select all

utils/bin/cumulusutils.exe website

Unfortunately, I thought I had it sorted, still no data upload in the extra
sensors graphs, but in the tables.

OK. It's now working. The problem was that the wiki did not make explicit that the use of the ChartsCompiler is compulsory for ExtraSensors and that the file CutilsCharts.def must be present.

I adjusted the Wiki to make this clear.

Hello all!

I’ve searched for a few days, but can’t seem to find a couple settings after a weekend full of looking…

How do I change the elevation units in the header? I’m in the US and it’s showing in ft, but says m after the elevation.

Also, how do I change the date format to mm-dd-yyyy?

I figured this is probably something simple I’ve overlooked in setting everything up.

I have two sites online with this template. Still experimenting and changing things. Thanks for an awesome setup!

Hi,

Thanks for using CUtils.

Elevation showing in feet with m as unit obviously is a bug. Strangely nobody noticed before. I am currently not at the computer but will be back in a few fays and fix that.

That date format I have to lookup so will get back to that. It may have to do with the international setting: en-US. If that fails I think it has been overlooked somewhere.

When back I'll be in touch.
