If there are any more then I would be happy to do those too if it would save Paul any worry.

Re: For New Users
Hi
Thanks everyone for your help with this one.
As you may know I was an original Cumulus user, in fact I was a test dummy for Steve Loft when he was developing Cumulus, basically If I could get it to work so could everyone else, I think that was Steves thought anyway.
Since them Cumulus has been ticking away nicely in the background until I decided to switch to MX this January.
I cannot account for the changes in the files - its not something I have done
Please find attached a couple more months data.
I would really like all years, the more data you have the more you can look at the long term trends etc. I have been recording the weather for the Met office now for 22 years (unpaid) so I am now starting to see increases in temperature means inline with our changing weather patterns.

Re: For New Users
Well @Paul C, if we skip the cause, at least we know what is wrong and @freddy made clear how to quickly mend the wrong files. So maybe you and freddy work it out and when OK we get back here? We can't let go this link with the past can we?

Re: For New Users
Sounds good. If Freddy is happy to edit the files. Then I think it's the best approach

Re: For New Users
Can you upload them to your website and perhaps I can download from there? Or zip them individually and pm to me?

Re: For New Users
Freddie, I think he has uploaded some files with correct comma separator. If so, you won't be editing those in same way as yesterday.
See my earlier post, since slightly corrected, the earlier files almost certainly don't have tab issue.
HansR mentioned that those earlier files have issue of fewer fields than were defined for 1.9.4, and so gave errors. A separate strategy will be needed to add those fields, I am not sure if Create Missing utility covers those very old changes, nor do I recall if my old PHP or JavaScript utilities adding derivatives can do this ?

Re: For New Users
CreateMissing only adresses issues with the dayfile. Afaik the monthly logs are not touched. So if the format of the monthly logs is wrong you may correct that. If that is impossible or fields cannot be added or whatever problem may occur, the file will be skipped by CumulusUtils. For older files it will just mean they will not be accounted in the statistics (solar and Wind only). However, when errors encountered which point to illegal format CUtils will detect a fatal and exit. Those errors need to be addressed.sfws wrote: ↑Sat 09 Apr 2022 10:18 amFreddie, I think he has uploaded some files with correct comma separator. Re: For New Users
I fully understand that illegal separators was the cause of failure.
I was only pointing out that Paul has now shared some files that do have legal separators throughout, but reading them gave warnings re some missing fields.
To work out daily extremes for feels like temperature, Create Missing has to calculate the spot feels like temperature for every line within that day, in the monthly log, the feels like calculation requires concurrent spot temperature, spot humidity, and spot wind speed. So it does update the monthly log, there is no other way to calculate a daily extreme.
Based on how Mark describes his utility, it was only coded to do this for those derivatives added to MX between 3.0.0 and now.
3.0.0 had same fields as 1.9.4, but we were looking at file produced by 1.8.2, and that had fewer fields.
In May 2020, I supplied you with some (later abandoned) JavaScript that recalculated derived fields after any source fields were edited in the MX data file editor, I doubt if that addressed fields not present at 1.8.2, but I would not remember any code I saw a couple of days ago, let alone 2 years ago.

Let us assume a particular day in dayfile.txt is missing the daily extremes for feels like temperature (that was not included prior to release 3.6.11 (8 July 2020)).

Re: For New Users
@sfws: I suggest to discuss this elsewhere as this is going to pollute this CUtils new user thread (and possibly frighten off new users ).
I understand what you are saying, if you wish to discuss, please send PM.

Re: For New Users
Good day,
This is my first post here on the forum, and I think there will be a few more to come.
I would like to install the program, and especially for the wildfire page, that still occurs here sometimes.
I can't quite figure it out, opening the EXE file worked, but then I keep getting stuck, and don't know what I'm doing wrong.
I already have 32 days of data, but these are loaded from Weaterlink
