But where should I put maps and ftp?
You do have a cumulusutils.ini file I assume (you did have a successful run so you must have.
Edit that file and you will find sections indicated by a title between square brackets e.g. [General] or [FTP] or [Maps]
In each section you will find parameters with their default values.

Edit thease parameters to read:

Code: Select all

[FTP site]
FtpLog=On
DoUploadFTP=true
[Maps]
Website=<your URL to where you want the CUtils site>
Participant=true

The parameter value is taken literally so don't put the URL or anything between quotes unless you want the quotes.
Then you run again.

Since you now have stated that you wish to upload a parameter is generated for the destination:

Code: Select all

UploadDir=
Fill in the destination path where you want the generated files (website) to be uploaded. This path is relative to the FTP root.
Run again and that should be it.

This is where I am up to now

I ve downloaded the Aug18 file from Freddie

re ran the program, but it failed

I then deleted that file and put my old one back in - failed

I then deleted Aug18 completley - its appears to have worked all the way through but now a ftp log error ?

Clearly it would be nice if August 2018 was in there, but for now getting it working without will be fine.

I have attached the log files

@Paul C: you have to remove the file copy_aug18log.txt and then run again with the corrected file.
There is no use in using the original file. Remove all files which have a copy_ prefix.
Please send only one logfile.

Hi

I definitely dont have any copy files !!

I have gone through my data folder and removed some old txt files left over from when I imported my data folder from Cumulus 1 to MX, this appears to have cleared most errors.

I do now have a web site showing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! at last

@Paul C: OK, that's good.

Now the next step is to get all realtime values. To get those you must tell CUtils that the datafiles are one level up, namely where the website of CMX is. To do so set

Code: Select all

CumulusRealTimeLocation=../
and run again.

Bewerk de parameters om te lezen:
CODE:SELECTEER ALLES

[FTP site]
FtpLog=On
DoUploadFTP=true
[Maps]
Website=<uw URL naar waar u de CUtils-site wilt hebben>
Participant=true

I still don't have an upload. it should be by now

@Paul C: :clap: . Now I just have some points for you:
  1. Your windrose for allyears/allmonths is not correct and that is weird because all other year/month combi's are OK. This is likely data driven issue so you may wish to move the faulty datafiles out of the data directory and (after backup) edit the dayfile.txt to start only on the first day without error. If you do, don't forget to modify the Records Began Date. All this will also prevent flooding of the logfile with errors.
  2. Don't forget to run CUtils daily (best using the thrifty qualifier). You can use the windows scheduler or user the external commands feature of CMX.
  3. You may want to subscribe to the release thread of CUtils. Upgrading is easy and quality improvements are released relatively often.
@Gerrit: :clap: . You did not even give me time to react on the previous mail ;) I have the following remarks for you:
  1. Apparently you did not install the lib and css directories. You should do so.
  2. In the previous mail you sent me the inifile. If you do, ALWAYS send the logfile with it. Without I can't see what you are doing.
  3. See point 2 & 3 of the prev list for @Paul C.

@Paul C: & @Gerrit:
Please set

Code: Select all

DoLibraryIncludes=false
GeneratejQueryInclude=false
And this should be done by everybody who generates the website!

@everybody:
NOTE: the default is true because originally CUtils was mainly used in a modular fashion. I may change this default setting in future.

@Gerrit: DO NOT put the URL for the map in quotes, it give problems.

In Dutch: Geen aanhalingstekens rond de URL, dat geeft problemen!

Stel alstublieft in
CODE:SELECTEER ALLES

DoLibraryIncludes=false
GeneratejQueryInclude=false
En dit zou iedereen moeten doen die de website genereert!
I adjusted it, just trying to set more this afternoon, and there is another problem with the additional sensors, they are not seen.
That seems to me more of a problem for the MX itself.

I will then also take a look at the js and lib, I do see that there is a lot of stuff in sub folders eg,

/public_html/mx/lib/steelseries/scripts/src/tween.js

Wind Rose data - it appears it doesnt like any of the files prior to 2012. So 2011 Year doesnt work. It wont even show any year before 2011, not available as a drop down menu to view, even though my data files go back to 2007. If there is an easy fix well great, but I am not to concerned as I have 10 years of wind rose data available, a few days ago I had nothing !! I am not sure I have the capabilities to edit my log files.

Can I ask it to to just start from Jan 2012 ?

I would like CumulusMX to "run" utils every day, is this easy to do. Cant say I have heard of thrifty qualifier ?

OK. Take care with the sub folders. There may be a confusion with file names which are the same for both websites. That is why I always advise to install the utils website in another webserver directory e.g. /public_html/utils. I will solve possible conflicts in future.

When extra sensors are not picked up by CMX that is the forst step yes. When seen by CMX, read the utils wiki.

Don't forget my remark about the Map Url. It is now torpedoing the map for all users :!: :!:
