Problem with wind with gw1000
Hello, I have a problem with the gust wind and the instantaneous. Leaving the factory setting, the wind gust does not correspond to reality, I have solved this problem by setting the multipliers to 0. The problem is that when I set it to 0, the normal wind goes to 0. I have tried to set the multipliers to 0 to both options and I have no solution. It is only solved by setting both options to 1 but the gusty wind is false. I have checked it with the station and with the gw1000 application.
the version used is Cumulus MX 3.6.7 b3083
a greeting.

You need to have the multiplier set to 1 to get true readings.
I'll need to see a log file with the debug and data options switched on, and for you to record what windspeed the console and ecowitt web site are along with the time at intervals.

leaving it at 1 the multipliers I get the wrong gusty wind again. Do you need me to send you some kind of information?

Re: Problem with wind with gw1000
See my post above for the required diags.
Setting the multiplier to zero will always give a zero value, A*0=0
You keeping saying the gust values are wrong without quantifying it, which makes it impossible to begin to guess what may be going on.
And by "gusty" values, do you mean the highest 10 minute gust, or the latest wind reading?

You should be replying with the MXdiags file having switched debug logging and data options on and the additional data to Mark. It is no good PM'ing me because I am afraid I cannot help, he can.

Re: Problem with wind with gw1000
If you are unsure how to do that, it is in the standard instructions (I have not edited them for your specific issue):
1 ) In admin interface Settings tab, station settings, Options section, select debug logging (and if relevant data logging). This adds a lot of extra information to the log designed to help answer questions when someone has a problem.
2 ) If your problem relates to uploading to your remote web server, then in admin interface, settings tab, internet settings screen, Web/FTP settings section, about 2/3 way down, select FTP logging
3 ) Leave MX running for a while, hopefully long enough for several instances of your problem to reoccur
4 ) Stop MX
5) zip the latest file updated in CumulusMX/MXDiags folder. Add into zip, any log files that seem relevant to your question, and any other files you have modified from their content in the MX distribution if those files are relevant to your problem.
6 ) At this point you can optionally try restarting MX
7) Now ask your question in the correct sub-forum Cumulus MX Current (releases since b3043)
8 ) Use the attachment tab below the posting window to upload your zip. In the post explain your problem, and quote any settings (do not disclose passwords) that might be relevant. Also state what device you are running MX on, and on what device you view the admin interface.
9) If your problem relates to uploading, some information on your web server structure can help.
10) If your problem relates to the admin interface say so.
11 ) If your problem relates to web pages on your own web server (not server generated for the admin interface) say so, and which web pages you are using, and (if relevant) PHP version being used.
12 ) Given the right information, as listed above, permits other people to answer your question easily.

I don't know if this data is enough to analyze.
I leave you this links where is my station to compare

Thanks

Re: Problem with wind with gw1000
I picked a couple of times from the log file and compared them with the Ecowitt web site and the values I decode match what the web site is saying?
For instance at 02:15 Ecowitt web site has speed = 1.3 m/s, gust = 2.6 m/s
The MX log around that time has speed = 1.2 m/s, gust = 1.7 m/s
Given that the readings sent to Ecowitt and out of the API will be at different times we can expect some differences, but they are in the same sort of sensible range.
What values did MX record at that time?
BTW, forget Weather Underground - it does not use gust speeds as recorded by the station so it cannot be used as a comparison.

Re: Problem with wind with gw1000
Thank you, I see the problem now. It will have to be fixed in the next release - there was a spurious conversion from mph to user units for the gust value. Users who use mph as the Cumulus wind units will not see the issue.
