CumulusMX stops VP2 console receiving at start?

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

CumulusMX stops VP2 console receiving at start?

Post by jon_iz »

I've just noticed that the VP2 console stops receiving and shows "R" when cumulusMX is launched.
It starts receiving again after about 3 minutes.
I also have a Vue console and that is unaffected, so that narrows it down to the starting of CumulusMX that is causing it
CumulusMX is build 3083 and the console is v3.8
Looking at MXDiags it looks like it's linked to the setting of the console clock at launch, which would make sense. (log attached)
However is this normal behavior? I didn't notice it on v3082, but maybe I wasn't looking.... :D

Hi Jon, this is not unusual. Setting the clock on many consoles (but not all, I have no idea why, maybe its just what they are up to at the time?) causes them to lose sync - the VP2 console is pretty old now and not very powerful. Setting the clock means it has to do a few things at once - something it isn't very good at :(
