1050 just for spares?

Hi everyone, my first post.

Just set up my new 1080 bought as a replacement for a WS2300. Looks to be a great little buy.

Anyway, Maplins have this on sale for £39.99 which is really cheap, and was wondering if it's worth buying just for spares.

That is if the rainguage and hygro unit are the same as on the 1080. Anybody know?
Thanks

Hi Anthony, welcome to the forum.

Looks OK if you need spare wind and rain sensors but doesn't have wind direction or USB output that I can see; would be OK for spare sensors and the transmitter unit which may well handle the wind direction data as well. The sensors appear to be the same throughout their whole range so I don't think there should be any problems there.

Cheap enough but a new WH1080 is only about £70 discounted. They do appear to be getting cheaper every year.

Mike.

I also think the 1080 transmits on 88?MHz and the unit you pointed to uses 433MHz.
