FTP error - should I be concerned?

I discovered error messages like the one below produced by MX in the console. They occur about every 20 minutes or so on average - but this is highly variable. It does not stop mx continuing to run and output "normally". I think it has probably been occurring for a long time but it was only yesterday that I first saw them - I had stopped using the stop/start script to manage mx while I fiddled with using screen (the rpi is headless).
The messages to the console seem to correspond to ftp related errors in the mxdiags file - all begin "FTP error renaming ..." or "Error uploading ..." and end with "Timed out trying to read data from the socket stream!" (see a screen snip below - happy to post the zip if necessary). These errors seem to get corrected - perhaps on a retry that is successful? If they have been happening for the past 3-4 years, as I suspect, don't ask why I hadn't noticed them previously
(my only somewhat pathetic defence is the pi has been stable from the day I got it)
So my primary question is "should I be concerned?" Maybe this is an acceptable error rate? Else, what might I do to stop or reduce it?
