Error -32701

Everything seems to be working just fine, including my Weatherlink 6.0.5. My console is updating correctly, but the Cumulus keeps coming up with the -32701 error. I am running Cumulus 1.9.4 and have been for a long time. The hardest part with doing a search for the error code is there are so many answers. So I am asking for help on this error.

Need a bit more info than just 'error 32701' ..
where does it show the error (Cumulus 1.9.4 console display?, a pop-up message?)
To me, it sounds like a .NET error. Does

describe what you see?

The 32701 error in Cumulus is usually when starting Cumulus and another program using the same console is already running.
Make sure there is not another instance of Cumulus or WL running. Start WL and see if it runs ok. Then stop Weatherlink and start Cumulus.
Heere is on of past discussions on this

During a weather event here of dealing with a Pneumonia front which caused as lengthy rain with very strong winds, we last power for about 90 minutes. Now I am getting the error "
Error -32701 while trying to initialize the station". I cannot get this to clear up. I also don't seem to get my Weather Link (192.168.1.102) to show up in my Wi-FI settings. I am baffled.

Does the WeatherLink have a static IP address or do you have an IP address reservation for the WeatherLink on your router? If not, it is possible that with an outage that long that your router has assigned the WeatherLink a different IP address.

Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you, but I was working with Davis Instruments to find out why the WeatherlinkIP Data Logger was not being seen by the router. It is now seen as IP 192.168.1.102 (port 22222). That is exactly what the Station Configuration is set to. The Console is showing the current conditions, and the Data Logger is flashing as I would expect it to. But, I'm still getting the 32701 error.
Before I recontact Davis Instruments, I am going to see if I can get this resolved here first. Yes, the address if static

Can you ping it from another device on your network? Also, what is the LAN IP address of the router?

No problem ping the Data Logger. I have seen something in the Weather Link that I can't resolve which might be the problem. In the communications Port page, it can find the DID and IP numbers no problem when I click on the "Local Device ID". But if I then click on the TEST button, I get an error message of "Cannot establish connection since port is already in use." What? The port is 22222 is in the Cumulus software and always has been as it has always has been in the Weather Link software. If port 22222 is already in use, what could now be using it? And can I change it and to what?

Attached is the config file for the data logger in a PDF format.

I presume you are using Cumulus1, and that you have the Station Settings as TCP/IP with the correct IP address. Do you have anything in the "Discon period" box? The Discon period is needed if you are using Cumulus and having the IPlogger do the uploads to Weatherlink.
The Cumulus1 console help says:
Discon period. Causes Cumulus to disconnect for a specified number of seconds, once a minute, on the minute (or as close as possible) to allow the Weatherlink IP to connect to the Davis Weatherlink site. Keep this figure as low as possible to minimize the amount of time which Cumulus spends disconnected from the station. Set it to zero to disable, if you are not using the Weatherlink site.
Enjoy,
Paul

Yes, the value in the "Discon period" box is 1.

I wonder if 1 (1 second) is too low, and would try a higher number.
Enjoy,

Changed "Discon period" box to 5. It made no difference.

I now have the Data Logger showing up as it should. WeatherLink 6.0.5 it finds the Data Logger and the correct IP and DID numbers. But, when I do a Test, I get an error message saying "
Cannot establish connection since port is already in use." The port number is 22222 and has been ever since I started using Cumulus back in 2013. Did the power outage I had be at fault and messed up the port? If so, how would I go about finding a free port? Or figuring out what is also using the port 22222?

Hi,
Sorry I can't be helpful on the port issue.
I presume your weatherlink.com uploads are also not working.
You have probably already stopped and restarted your PC, so next thing I'd do is call Davis on Monday to get Weatherlink working again.
Then you should be on the way to get Cumulus working as well.
Enjoy,
Paul
