Battery level - warning

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Battery level - warning

Post by sutne »

New in version b3076:
Adds BatteryLow Alarm for WLL (Console [if you have an API key] & Tx), VP2 (Console & Tx), GW1000 (Tx), and adds a new web tag <#BatteryLowAlarm>
I have an Oregon WMR100 and I think that when I was running Cumulus 1, the Cumulus interface on the PC showed low battery for my sensors.
Is my memory wrong, or it is possible to have this for the WMR100?

See viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5293&p=54197&hilit= ... ery#p54197 although that is about another WMR model, it mentions battery alarm in version 1.9.2

Yes, this confirms that battery level for sensors to the WMR100 was included in Cumulus 1.

Then I ask: is it possible to have this in Cumulus MX?

Hmm, all the battery status code is commented out in MX for some reason. No idea if was because it doesn't work, or some other issue. Not having a station to test against, it would be a risk to enable it unless I have a friendly alpha tester with a WMR100.

I have a WMR100 and I am friendly (most of the time). The disadvantage is that my weather station and Raspberry is up in the mountains where I visit with some weeks interval.
I have remote access, but if I need to do something physical (re-boot, re-connect etc), it can be difficult. In June I will be staying there for a longer period.

OK, when I have something, I'll let you know. It may be a little while though...

If you have remote access, rebooting a Raspberry Pi only needs you to type sudo reboot

I was thinking about rebooting the consol. Maybe that is called ‘Reset’.
There has also been problems with the USB-connection between the console and the RPI (solved with a powered HUB). So I am a bit concerned if you do something with this communication that causes a hangup, there could be need for power off/on resets.
