Windy UTC Partial Error Issue

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Windy UTC Partial Error Issue

Post by Buford T. Justice »

I have been trying to upload data to Windy. I see this error in MXdiags:

Code: Select all

Windy Response: OK: SUCCESS (partial) <br> 'dateutc': value is greater then our now time (our time is used) dt = 1s; <br>
LOL at "then" instead of "than", but I am not sure what the UTC issue means as my computer time is correct.

Windy is using my CWOP APRS data as well.

Respectless laugh at non native English speakers/creators.
Should'nd you send the observation to Windy?

I recently used the word 'miniscules' for 'lowercase'. I was kindly corrected and I could laugh about it. But that was me laughing about myself.

And I think it means that somewhere, you are 1 second ahead of the Windy server.
Big deal ;)

The use of leap seconds to correct time drift is not adopted by all nations (does USA?), so I have read of 1 second astray issues in other more safety critical contexts.

Respectless? Their website is in English.

So? They are czech and only have a small team of 15 people. They are doing pretty well I think but an error like this is easily made for a non native English speaker.
And btw: I communicate in English here as well (site, my manual, my utility)... that leads sometimes to embarrassing translation losses as well ;)
I know what I am talking about.
