No connection with GW1000 wifi gateway

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but the Cumulus send me some error massages.

I connected the GW1000 wi-fi gateway to my laptop with Win10. I downloaded the file package from CumulusMX (Cumulus MX v3.5.4 build 3075, 25-April-2020), unpacked and turned on the only application file that is CumulusMX.exe and a window appears that no station was detected.
I went to http: // localhost: 8998 / and checked Ecowitt GW1000 in Station settings. I entered IPAdress = in the [GW1000] section, I saved it. The Cumulus.ini file has changed, but when I launched the application I have an error with which I do not know what to do:

Below I put a content of my MXdiags file:

Did you configure the GW1000 with WS View app? That needs to be done before you attempt to configure Cumulus MX.

Another check is to see if you see data on Ecowitt.net. I recommend setting that up too. This lets you know that the GW1000 is working without Cumulus MX.

Yes, I have the gateway active for 6 months and it works fine sending my data here: https://www.ecowitt.net/home/index?id=7779

Is there anything more in the MXdiags?
Can you enable Data logging for a little while, then zip and attach latest MXdiags.

Enjoy,
Paul

Yes, please find the attached zip file below.

Those indicate that Debug logging is not yet enabled. Enabling that may give more details.

Enjoy,
Paul

Yes, but where can I make debug logging enabled?

What firmware version is the GW1000? Run WS View app to check.
Can you ping the IP address of the GW1000?

CumulusMX admin interface Settings/Station Settings/Options probably better to both set Data and Debug logging. Press Save at bottom, close Mx and then restart it.

It looks like the same issue as here: viewtopic.php?p=141753#p141753

Something is blocking the network discovery packets, so local firewall, or broadcast forwarding on your router, or ....?

The next release will fully disable auto-discovery in these situations, and just allow manual IP address input - hopefully released by the end this week-end....

I attached the log files. I disabled auto-discovery.

I have only one GW-1000 wi-fi gateway. My firmware version: GW1000A_V1.5.8.
Can you ping the IP address of the GW1000?
Yes. Generated response:

Code: Select all

Pinging 192.xxx.x.15 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 192.xxx.x.15: bytes=32 time=128ms TTL=255
Reply from 192.xxx.x.15: bytes=32 time=143ms TTL=255
Reply from 192.xxx.x.15: bytes=32 time=59ms TTL=255
Reply from 192.xxx.x.15: bytes=32 time=291ms TTL=255

Ping statistics for 192.xxx.x.15:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 59ms, Maximum = 291ms, Average = 155ms
Still something blocks the connection.

Now wait and watch for the announcement on the updated CumulusMX version that Mark indicated could be by the end of the week-end.

Enjoy,
Paul

Yeah, it's not ping (ICMP) that is being blocked. The wsview app uses exactly the same discovery mechanism, so if that app finds the gw-1000 then it must be something on the machine you are running MX that is blocking it.

Have you tried disabling any firewall and intrusion protection software as a test?

Are you running CumulusMX.exe as admin? Also, open Cumulus.ini and make sure:

Code: Select all

[GW1000]
IPAddress=192.168.1.200
AutoUpdateIpAddress=1
Change IPAddress to whatever yours is on or try 0.0.0.0 and see.

Yes, I have. I receive the same error number.
Change IPAddress to whatever yours is on or try 0.0.0.0 and see.
I did this but still it fails to establish connection. I have no any idea why because it is simple configuration.
