New Moon Icon

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

New Moon Icon

Post by Big Daddy »

Just a word of thanks for the new moon icon in CumulusMX b3071.

I previously used a very similar image but it was displayed by picking one of 200+ images I had created for each moon phase by using php based on the "moonphase" and "percentage" values.

Much easier to call up moon.png and I can now archive my old images and save some server space.

Nice touch.

Thanks for the continued efforts and improvements.

Yes It is very nice Thanks to all that did this. As it is working good.
Now 1 question, does it really need to be generated every hour? wouldn't once a day work? like when it does the end of day thingy. even though its size is small but people that ftp their files up only need to do this once a day, correct me if im wrong on that, and I think there is an option to ftp a file at roll over or something like that.

The image just about changes by 1 pixel each hour near the quarters when at 100 pixel resolution. I think the overhead at once per hour is tiny. But you can always disable the automatic hourly upload and upload it once day via the Extra Files if you wish.
