Do you use it with USB or Serial connection?djohnson1810 wrote: ↑Mon 26 Feb 2024 4:48 pm It appears pretty straight forward installing cumulus on the Pi, but I am looking for for instructions on how to hook up my VP2 to the pi. Right now I have it hooked up to my PC with the Davis Weather Link logger. How do I get my VP2 to talk to the pi?

You have a data logger in the Vantage Pro 2. These usually send data to a USB plug.
- If your model of Pi has a full size USB socket, just plug it in to the Pi
- If your Pi has only micro USB sockets, you'll need to put an "OTG" "On The Go" adapter in between. (looks like a USB-A socket to micro-USB plug). Plug that into the micro USB port of your Pi. https://www.amazon.co.uk/StarTech-com-5 ... B00B4GGW5Q

Re: Instructions: Installing CumulusMX on Raspberry Pi
My setup is a Davis VP2 with a Data Logger and a RP3. Even though the the data logger comes with a USB cable you want to set the connection type to serial. If you set it to USB using the Davis Weather Link software change it back to serial in Weatherlink. Then set the Davis VP2 in CumulusMX to serial connection and the serial port name. On the RP the name is typically /dev/ttyUSB0
