Re: CumulusMX new install on PC win7 problems.
That appears to be correct in how CumulusMX runs.get the message ”replace * with ip addy” start the browser with localhost run MX has admin, but just stps running in dos window?
Then open a new browser on that computer and enter the url localhost:8998 and that should bring up the dashboard interface, including settings, etc.
On another computer on your local network you can also access the CumulusMX dashboard by entering the host computer's IP address - i.e. 192.168.0.160:8998
Enjoy,
Paul

Re: CumulusMX new install on PC win7 problems.
So did you install a brand new version of Windows 7? If so, have you done all the Windows Updates(are they available?) as CumulusMX requires a particular version of the .Net Framework that is not available until you do Windows 7 update (think it was .Net Framework 3.5.1 and above).my pc hard disc went down and I lost all my software!

Cumulus was running, then it was closed...
Did you close the black console window?

Not able to load the info for the gauges? say can't connect? tried ip addy and localhost no luck.

Re: CumulusMX new install on PC win7 problems.
Are you by any chance expecting the MSDOS window to turn in to a Cumulus 1 like front end as that is not how CumulusMX works.
You have to load up your browser of choice and type into the URL http://localhost:8998 or htpp://your ip address:8998 and the Cumulus MX interface will appear in the browser. Do NOT close the running MSDOS window with a Ctrl+C as the browser will not be able to connect to anything as that window is running the web server the browser connects to.
