Windrun

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Windrun

Post by Vegit8 »

As a new convert to MX I have to say I am generally very impressed.

However I am struggling with one very small aspect. Windrun.
Every month I write a report for our local parish mag as a review of the weather.
One variable that I have been including is the total wind run for the given month.
I find this is a good way of describing how windy it has been.
In the old Cumulus there used to be a report of Highs and Lows for the chosen month, this included the wind run total.

I have been able to calculate the figure by extracting the relevant data from dayfile.txt and summing it in Excel.
Sadly this is a tortuous process as the machine that runs MX does not have Excel so I have to remotely log in to the machine grab the file and then do the calcs.

Could consideration be given to adding this total somewhere within the MX dashboard, obviously on a select by month basis?

Cheers

You could try installing this on youe website viewtopic.php?f=14&t=11397#p91488

This gives you monthly totals for almost everything including wind run.
