nav_menu $ns $ew
There are a few things that I don't understand.
the $ns and $ew are included in the new CUtagsT.php template file.
These vars allow for the translation of N S E W.

Did you update ALL the files in the new 2.1.1 release web folder?
There have been changes!

Translations
Gauges
Have you updated all the files in \lib\steelseries\scripts\ ??
The language.min.js file has been updated.
When I turn on the nl lang in ajaxCUmx.js all gauges translate OK.

Remember that the nl laguage has not been translated for most pages - unless you have done it yourself in which case you will need to update your file (and share it!) as there are a number of additions/changes to the all the /langlib/xx.json files.

There is translation for nl for the pages listed in the first post this thread including gauges.

That wasn't his query ...

It was $latitude Vs $lat, and $longitude Vs $lon - but of course having the right files helps ;)

A little more investigation reveals this occurs if show_links = 2 (it's OK if set to 1). My html skills are poor so I've had no luck debugging this.

Yes
Now know what is causing this but no solution yet.

The core issue is that the Cumulus version of bootstrap does not support dropdown menus within dropdown menus.

The code used to overcome this interferes with the language loader in the Davis Console pages.

I know that. ;)

@BCJKiwi, as I wrote I did clean install so I erased UIMX 1.02 in its entirety, made a backup first and then installed UIMX 2.1.1.
I checked everything again and now I know what was wrong with TodayYesterday at the gauges and in todayyesterday.php.
With the old UIMX 1.02 there had to be 5 files in the web map.

Code: Select all

CUtagsMXT.php
realtimegaugesT.txt
realtimetagsMXT.php
realtime-xMXT.txt
recordsMXT.js
With UIMX 2.1.1 there must be 4 files income

Code: Select all

CUtagsT.php
realtimetagsT.php
realtime-xT.txt
recordsMXT.js
I assumed that I could just overwrite them, so that turned out not to be the case, they did get into the web folder, but the old ones with xxxxMXT.xxx stayed there.
Stupid of me that I overlooked that, the rest was just right, I changed all this and removed realtimegaugesT.txt, also in the Extra Webfiles everything was changed and there after a restart of CumulusMX everything now works again. :clap:

But as I wrote earlier, the interface does not yet want to switch properly to Dutch (current conditions) System forecast is now in English) the only option that does is Anual Data that comes back neatly in Dutch.
The text in the gauges also appears in Dutch.

When I give F12 I see an error:

Code: Select all

I would not know where to look for that now, so I would like some help with that. :(

There are syntax errors in lines #577 #578 of nl.json (extra " in the last phrases)

The realtimegaugesT.txt file is required in the MX web folder but is already supplied by the MX distribution so is not included in the UI template file set (but is for the C1 version).
So, DO NOT delete the MX /web/realtimegaugesT.txt file!

As stated before and as detailed in the first post this thread:-
There is no dutch translation for most of the site.
All the following languages have fully functional translations in Current Conditions, Betel Dayfile reader, and SS Gauges.
At this time, five languages are translated for the main pages
Dutch is NOT translated for the main pages. ;) ;)

If you turn on nl in ajaxCUmx.js then you will still get English everywhere except for current conditions, BetelDayfile reader and SSGauges which have their own independent translation systems.

So presumably your native language is Dutch so you could create the translations for the nl.json page.

There are instructions in the /langlib/README.txt file
Note that there is a separate set of instructions for the MX charts in the /js/README_charts.txt file.

If Gauges are not translating properly (feels like and Humidex and possible something else ?), please advise the correct translations and I will update the lang file for the Gauges.

A fix for
links_multidropdn.html
and the effect it has on the
language selection / Davis console pages.

Applies to both MX and C1

.zip files in first post this thread updated.

For those who already use links_multidropdn.html and have made changes, then you may prefer to apply the following edit to the existing file.

Replace the top part of links_multidropdn.html with this:-

Code: Select all

<!-- silveracorn.nz MXUI website - links_multidropdn.html - Version MX_2.1.1 - 20-Sep-2020
// MX version 3086 -->
<script> /* required for dropdown within dropdown */
$(document).ready(function(){
  $('a.dropdown-toggle').click(function(dd){
	 $(this).closest('li').toggleClass('open');
	 dd.stopPropagation();
	 dd.preventDefault();
  });
});
</script>
		<li class="dropdown">

These are in CumulusMX Settings - Station setting - Location and after entering the Lat Lon make sure you Save.
Cumulus.ini will then be updated.

Enjoy,
Paul

Thanks Paul, it is set up ok in settings, but does not show on the webpage. Reverting back to my backup of this morning taken before any changes all works ok, so Ithink I must have missed something in setting up the later up version today. Time for a coffee and have another look! I will get there in the end.

Silly question from me.

Have you cleared your browsers cache (browser history)?

Hello Brian BCJKiwi, I've done some homework on the nl.json translation, I've finished it now and will do it in the attachment.
At first my partial translation into Dutch had no effect, I always got an error, fortunately @beteljuice was kind enough to send me a repaired nl.json per PM and there was an error in line #807.
Now everything works fine and most of it is now in Dutch, yet there are still some items that can/need to be translated.
Now / Current Data / Wind / Beaufort Description / everything remains in English, even if I switch to another language as English, even though I have translated all Beaufort descriptions into Dutch.

Code: Select all

                "Wind":"Wind",
		"Latest":"Aktueel",
		"Average Speed":"Gemiddelde Snelheid",
		"Peak Gust":"Piek Vlaag",
		"Bearing":"Richting",
		"Average Bearing":"Gemiddelde Richting",
		"Beaufort Number":"Beaufort Nummer",
		"Beaufort Description":"Beaufort Beschrijving",
"_comment":"Calm already included in index.php",
		"Light air":"Zwak",
		"Light breeze":"Zwak",
		"Gentle breeze":"Matig",
		"Moderate breeze":"Matig",
		"Fresh breeze":"Vrij krachtig",
		"Strong breeze":"Krachtig",
		"Near gale":"Hard",
		"Gale":"Stormachtig",
		"Strong gale":"Storm",
		"Storm":"Zware Storm",
		"Violent storm":"Zeer Zware Storm",
		"Hurricane":"Orkaan",
The above comment ''Calm already included in index.php'' has not yet been translated into Dutch,
that must be:

Code: Select all

"Calm":"Windstil"
As I mentioned earlier, ''Calm'' is not being translated into other languages either it will remain in English. :oops:
Then you asked for the translation at ''Gauges/ Other Temps'', which must be in Dutch for

Code: Select all

"Feels like":"Voelt als"

And I would just leave Humidex as it is because there is no short description for it in Dutch, just like the word ''Help'' which is also an international term. ;)
"Wiki" writes:
The humidex (short for humidity index) is an index number used by Canadian meteorologists to describe how hot the weather feels to the average person, by combining the effect of heat and humidity. The term humidex was first coined in 1965. The humidex is a nominally dimensionless quantity (though generally recognized by the public as equivalent to the degree Celsius) based on the dew point.
Then in the case of ''Charts'', where I cannot translate the text in and under the maps, I don't know where the translation should be, I like to hear where it should be and then I will translate it as well. :)
The same with ''Extremes'', the mouse over text at the top is half English half Dutch. :(
Then I noticed a few things while translating, nowhere did I see lines referring to NNE or NE or E or SE or SSE, in the UK and NZ and other countries the wind sometimes comes from the East, or is it only in The Netherlands where the cold usually comes from. :lol:

But those are just details, I have a lot of respect for all the work you have done on this, it must have been quite a puzzle before everything worked out well, for me that wouldn't be anything I would have lost.
My compliments again, and good that you want to share all this with us. :clap:
I look forward to your response.

Greetings Sjaak.
