Greetings,
Is it possible to upload to Windy using the Cumulus 1 V1.9.4 build 10991?
I know I am past due to make the upgrade to MX... Just need to set aside a day to do it.
Thanks,
Ralph

afaik not directly. if you report to CWOP then Windy injects the CWOP station data into their maps.

Hi Simon,
I noticed that mentioned in previous post. However, even though I am posting to CWOP it is not displaying on Windy.
Thanks,
Ralph

You have to be fully registered with CWOP to be ingested by MADIS in order to show up on Windy.
What is your CWOP ID?

Hey galfert,
Yeah, I finally got it to come up... not until I figured out how to put it in the address bar.
Crazy thing is it showed I hadn't updated for over 2 hours and 20 minutes...
Let it sit for awhile and it finally showed 15 minutes with an 11 minute delay.. so we got 26 min old data.
I think this may be as good a reason as any to go on ahead and migrate to MX.
Thanks for the reply,
Ralph

Yes, one of the advantages of uploading directly to Windy is better timeliness of data (just 5 minute latency). Letting data get to Windy via CWOP -> MADIS is always going to show considerable delays.
Just more motivation to switch over to CMX.

I have just looked at my Windy site and noted that data is not being loaded from my station. This has been the case for the last 2 days
MX diags shows the following error line
"2021-10-02 12:55:00.568 Windy: ERROR - The SSL connection could not be established, see inner exception"
I checked my other upload sites PWS weather, Wunderground and WOW and they are all running just fine. I also rebooted the RPi and that as expected made no difference.
Is anyone else experiencing this error, I am working on the basis that it is a Windy.com issue at the moment.

@AndyKF650: Yes, similar error every upload.
Code: Select all
2021-10-02 14:15:01.655 Windy: ERROR - An error occurred while sending the request

Yes, I am seeing SSL errors as well. I haven't investigated but I suspect their SSL certificate has expired and needs renewing.

Hello!
I've just tried to set up my station with Windy and I'm also getting the SSL error. All other weather site uploads are fine. I have posted on the Windy forum too, hopefully someone can address the issue soon. Surely there would be a lot of people having the same problem if it is an issue with their site.

Quite possibly not, I have looked the link and followed some of the links so I'll see what i can do suing my cumulus/raspberry pi for dummies copy paste and see what happens methods!

The third post has a recipe, should be doable.
