Cumulus Support

Does anyone know what sampling method the Met Office for achieveing their published hourly wind speeds for a given station? Not sure if this is the right section but, would it be possible to have a similar option in Cumulus as it is not easy to find a mean wind speed for a given time from the graphs or log files produced.
