Replacement wind speed sensor for a 1081?

Hi All,

My 1081 worked well for about 3 weeks ... but then the wind speed started to read as zero, even though I can see the sensor (anemometer) twirling merrily around like it always did.

I tried unplugging and replugging the cables. And I can't see anything physically wrong with the unit.

Any ideas on how I could fix it, or where I could get a replacement sensor? (I'm in Australia - but I'd import a replacement if I had to.)

Thanks in advance for any tips.

Have you replaced the batteries? If found that some of the sensors stop reporting before others when the batteries are starting to run low.

Thanks for that suggestion. I'll give it a try.

If the batteries appear to be OK on a battery tester you could try spinning the batteries around in the battery holder in the sensor/transmitter unit, as you can get poor connections due to dampness and dirt on the contacts.
Just as you would when the TV remote appears not to work.
Often removing and replacing batteries will clean contacts enough to get it going again.
