1.8.7 downloading data problems

Hiya...I'm having problems while downloading data from Watson W-8681. The program stops responding and the only way to get it to carry on downloading is to restart from the Continue-restart or cancel window that opens....

I don't download my data to my PC for a few weeks and this is when this error occures

Some people do get this error from time to time. It's failing to write the today.ini file. I can't find anything wrong in Cumulus that might cause this, I suspect something else is preventing Cumulus writing to the file - antivirus or something.

You could try the latest 1.8.8 beta (which I am about to turn into the current main release anyway). It's just possible that I changed something that might make the problem disappear. In fact, I think I did actually put some code in to trap this error, log it and otherwise ignore it, on the assumption that it's transient, and a subsequent write will work OK, so it's definitely worth giving a go.
