Hi Steve,
I was trying out the max wind setting in the new beta, and wanted to do a quick test to see if it was working by temporarily setting it to a very low value. I put the following in my cumulus.ini in the [Station] section:
LCMaxWind=4.0
However, it still seems to be pulling in speeds greater than 4 mph. Is there a minimum value that it won't work below? My intent is to set it to 50 mph to filter out some occasional bogus readings from the console.

It's possible I made a logic error in the code, I have no way of testing it. I'll have a look at the code tomorrow.

I knew I would forget to mention this - the value has to be in metres/second (it was just much easier for me to implement that way). Does that explain what you're seeing?

Even though lately I haven't noticed any false wind gust reading I'd like to know that if I put this LCMaxWind=X.0 in the cumulus.ini do I have to set in configuration-station settings the wind in m/s ?!

I didn't have to... As a test, I put LCMaxWind=1.8, and it appeared to be correctly ignoring anything over approximately 4mph.

If I understand it correctly, do I have to set the wind in m/s only when I introduce this LCMaxWind=X.0 in the wind speed settings and then I can go back and change the settings in whatever I want ?!

Don't change your unit settings at all, that will break your data.
When you edit cumulus.ini to put the value in for LCMaxWind, the value that you put in has to be in m/s.

Just the numbers. For example
LCMaxWind=4
or
LCMaxWind=4.0
Either of those would set a max wind reading of 4 m/s.
LCMaxWind=4

LCMaxWind=4.0

No more bogus data in the last days, it seems that Prolific PL 2303 USB adapter does its job alright.
I also have the LCMaxWind=X and EWTempdiff=X in the cumulus.ini and everything is OK.
We'll see what's going to be with the rain fall data...
