recording data in tabular form

Post by opticsman0127 »

I am trying to import data into Excel to record monthly values. The only way I can find to do it is by importing the month log in the Data sub directory. For this month I would have to import data from a midnight back up on the 30th.

Is what I am doing the best way, if so, can anyone tell me what are the actual categories of the data in the imported CSV file. Some are obvious, date, pressure etc but some are extremely difficult to pin down.

I am looking for something which approaches part way to a NOAA type report but, anything which shows the daily values or monthly values is fine as long as it can be imported into Excel.

Thanks in advance for any help

The formats of the data files are in the help, and in the wiki - http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/index.php?ti ... :Log_Files

Hi Steve,

There is a discrepency. In the Format of the files in Wiki, there are 17 'titles'. The actual log file only imports 16 into Excel, unless I am importing incorrectly

Hi Steve,

Please forget that last post. For some reason, the last 'column' only started to show data after the first 2 days of commencement, the 14th. Is there something I have done wrong in my set up to cause this?

That data probably came from 1.8.7. The 17th field is Heat Index, which was added in one of the early 1.8.8 builds, and I updated the wiki to correspond to the latest code.

By the way - I intend to put NOAA reports in Cumulus 2, and might even do it in Cumulus 1 first to try it out. And if you're doing something like that, wouldn't it be easier using dayfile.txt, which has the daily summaries?

You are indeed correct. I downloaded the newer build which has caused this discrepency. Sorted.

Yes, just tried the daily values, loads better, thanks ever so much. NOAA would be superb if you can incorporate it.

Thanks again
