2 Minute average wind speed and direction

First off, just want to say thank you for the great weather station software!
Forgive me if this question has already been asked and answered. Currently, Cumulus appears to compute (or have passed from the console) a 10 minute average wind speed and direction and a 10 minute peak wind (gust). 10 minute wind gust is fine. But is there a way to have Cumulus compute a 2 minute average wind speed and direction instead of a 10 minute average? This is more consistent with ASOS reporting standards at least here in the U.S. and the requested reporting format for submitting to CWOP.
If not, may I suggest this for a future build?
Thanks again!

Hello, Brian.
A 2-minute average wind speed and direction is definitely in the plan for Cumulus 2. And if I can work out a way to do without too much change to Cumulus 1, I'll do it for that too.

Hey Steve,
An average 2-minute wind speed and direction would be great, thanks.
One more thought. Cumulus reports the average wind direction as 0 degrees whenever the average and peak wind speed is 0 mph for 10 minutes. Even though the speeds are 0 mph, WeatherUnderground sees the 0 degree direction, interprets this as North and displays a North direction icon (the little flag direction icon). I suppose this is more of a WeatherUnderground issue than a Cumulus issue and I don't know what sort of spec WeatherUnderground has layed out for reporting winds. But is it possible to display and/or send -- as the average direction instead?
Thanks again!

There's no scope in the Wunderground protocol for sending dashes; it has to be a value between zero and 360 inclusive:

Gotcha. So it is a WeatherUnderground issue. It's certainly a minor issue, but perhaps I will shot them an email about it.
I suppose another option for Cumulus would be to report the current (instantaneous) wind direction, whenever the average and peak wind speeds are both 0 mph. I think that is what some other weather station programs do, but I'm not sure.
Once again, thanks for your replies.

0 to 360 is 361 - is there a duplication on 0 / 360 ?

I guess that either they intended to allow 0 or 360 for North, or zero is there for the 'calm' value. As they apparently interpret zero as North, I guess it can't the latter!

Hi Steve,
Is the 2-minute average wind speed/direction feature already available in your Cumulus 2 Alpha version?
Thanks,
Brian

No, it doesn't even do the 10-minute average yet.

Will keep an eye out for future builds.
BTW, fixed the 0 degree average direction and resulting north wind icon showing up in WeatherUnderground. Just turned off the "wind guage graphics " preference
