I'm sure we can all live with it. Keep up the good work.

OK will give it a try and time it.steve wrote:I've run an 'optimize' on all the tables in the database - hopefully that will improve things a bit...
Mike, I tend to find the speed issue is related to the time of day more than anything -- be interested to see what you find. Same with the Wiki speedRepairman77 wrote:OK will give it a try and time it.

The time of day will have an effect if your ISP's system gets overloaded at peak times but it shouldn't make a vast difference as the amount of data being sent both ways is pretty small.daj wrote:Mike, I tend to find the speed issue is related to the time of day more than anything -- be interested to see what you find. For me I find it can be the difference between 1 or 2 seconds and 40 seconds around 11am UK timeRepairman77 wrote:The time of day will have an effect if your ISP's system gets overloaded at peak times but it shouldn't make a vast difference as the amount of data being sent both ways is pretty small.

Yeah. I've tried it at home and at work (two different ISPs and connection types too). At home I have 20Mb Virgin connection and consistently get around 19mb. At work I even got my network guys to prove that our own Leased line was not choking at that point. (I'm the boss so I can ask these things)!!Repairman77 wrote:David; have you done some speed tests on your connection at peak and off-peak times.
Yes it's a lot faster now Steve.steve wrote:It's quite a bit faster for me than it was at the same time yesterday (and before I optimised the database).
