Pressure off set n new release?

Post by harrym1byt »

Steve,

I have just installed the latest release (1.8.2 460) - might something have changed with respect to the pressure?

My pressure took a dive down by 13.0 hpa after installing it, I added 13.0 in the calibration offsets to bring it back into line.

See http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/m1byt/weather/trends.htm at about 22:00

That's odd, a restart of Cumulus then made the pressure 13.0 too high, so I had to reset the calibration off set back to zero.

Where did the value come from? Live running, or from the history? Is 13 hPa your difference between relative and absolute pressure? Cumulus reads the difference from the station at startup, maybe it got zero back on your first restart.

By the way, Harry, your daily graphs suggest that you have multiple entries for some days in dayfile.txt - you seem to have three entries for 17th Oct! I know there were bugs in previous version which could cause extra entries, but I was hoping they were fixed. Have you been editing the data files to go back in time to re-fetch data, but not removing the corresponding entries in dayfile.txt?

I had just installed 1.8.2 460 and started Cumulus when the pressure fell.

My difference is set at 8.4.

Or it may have misread it to perhaps get a value of 13?

That was probably entirely my own fault

It was a rather confusing day, where my system was shut down several times in a hurry and as I often do - I forgot to turn Cumulus off first.

Affirmative

I'm still a little confused as to a correct method to recover from accidently leaving Cumulus running when hibernate the system.

I will investigate to see if there is a way I can get Windows to tell Cumulus that the system is hibernating, and close down.

I've added a 'close on suspend' option to the v1.8.3 beta (see announcements).
