I would definately benefit from this feature as well... About once every couple of weeks, I get the random 85 - 110mph wind reading, even with a serial connection. I've read about the issue with interference between the sensors sometimes causing the issue. Here in Hawaii, at my specific location, I rarely get gusts above 30mph even when the trade winds are strong. I can always remove the setting if I know a hurricane is on the way.

Re: Is there a way to disable the wind gust ?!
I bought a new serial USB adapter, frankly, I really don't know how much it will help.
If these bogus gusts happen even with the serial port then there is little hope to solve this problem.
A wind gust or speed cutoff maybe it will help, hopefully.
Look at my LC 3600 with Inspeed Vortex using wuhu, no problem whatsoever with the wind speed or the wind gusts: http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstat ... =IBIHOROR9, the only problem that I have is ocasionally a drop in the pressure sensor area, but this is the fault of the console.
We hope Steve will find a way to help us.
Steve, please, help !
Thanks, Eugen-Oradea.

Re: Is there a way to disable the wind gust ?!
I wish I could, really. I've spent hours and hours trying to get it to read the data correctly. I've even considered buying a La Crosse station for experimenting. But when I see all over the internet people with bad data from La Crosse stations, even some when using a real serial port, using various software (even WUHU), I think that I probably wouldn't succeed anyway.Eugen-Oradea wrote:We hope Steve will find a way to help us.

I've put the wind cutoff in, it will be in the next beta release, later this week.

Re: Is there a way to disable the wind gust ?!
Just as I said yesterday I bought a new serial USB adapter, so far it seems to have some results, not even 1 bogus data on the internet in the last 20 hours or so.
It is a Konig Computer USB to RS232 converter and it cost me around 19 USD in a local hypermarket. I found the same type of adapter on the internet with 10 USD without shipping.
It is too early to say if this was the right solution. I still found in the record rainfall data area one bogus data that was not transmitted on the net. We'll wait and see...

Still error free, 2-nd day, it seems to be a little wonder after so many errors every day.

For the time being it seems that the new USB adapter solved the problem, at least for now...
Greetings, Eugen-Oradea.

What chipset does your new adapter use? I am told that the Prolific PL-2303 gives the best results with La Crosse stations.

Re: Is there a way to disable the wind gust ?!
I don't know if this one is Prolific but for sure it is PL 2303.
I have to mention that the transmission between the console and the thermo-hygro sensor is wireless with the 128 seconds rate.
So far not a single bogus in the last 36 hours and all the graphs are fine.
Regards, Eugen-Oradea.

Frankly, I don't trust too much this ebay stuff, if you buy something like that you have no guarantee that the product is OK and if it's not what do you do with it ?! Send it back on your expense ?! Too much headache for saving a few bucks...

Re: Is there a way to disable the wind gust ?!
Well, so far it was, nothing's perfect, not even this new adapter, all hopes were in vain, cheap station, cheap results, I guess I give up... The rain fall data collapsed completely with a bogus from nowhere, I'm sorry that there is no way to disable the rain sensor completely like with the wuhu and forget about the rain.
I want to check one theory, if I disconnect the rain sensor from the thermo-hygro sensor I wonder if the bogus data will keep coming just like now ?!
This rain fall problem is common to heavy weather as well.
I'm very disappointed.

But if it works perfectly with wuhu, then why not use that?

Re: Is there a way to disable the wind gust ?!
Because I can't use 2 weather stations, or didn't figure how to do it, with wuhu.
Unfortunately I didn't understand too well what I was explained to do and I gave up, it seemed way too complicated. I will just give up this rainfall data if there is a solution to stop reporting and I will stick to the other parameters that seem to be flawless for now. But I'm willing to try whatever solution there may be to find a way to solve the problems.
I have this LC 2350 for more than year and until I discovered the Cumulus I used it only to download the data from it on a different computer from time to time. There is a big step forward with the Cumulus. First I tried to install both stations, LC 3600 and LC 2350, on the same computer using heavy weather but I couldn't succeed. Heavy weather didn't allow to running of both stations simultaneously. So I used only the LC 3600 with the Inspeed Vortex wind sensor with wuhu and saved data with wuhu active on heavy weather passive. I used the LC 2350 as a back-up alternative. Now I can run both thanks to Cumulus. The only regret is that I can't have it all working properly. If I use LC 3600 or LC 2350 with Heavy weather I have the same problems with the rain fall data. Heavy weather is clearly a very sensitive software with a lot of problems that were not solved, as far as I know, on these models. Sometimes even wuhu has problems with rain fall data reporting. I guess I have to learn to live with that or to search for a new weather station. I really would like to see a weather station, on an affordable price (let's say up to 500 USD), to run flawlessly.
All the best and greetings, Eugen-Oradea.

You might be interested by the new Davis Vantage Vue weather station that is listed at $395 USDEugen-Oradea wrote:...I really would like to see a weather station, on an affordable price (let's say up to 500 USD), to run flawlessly...
Here is the link: http://www.vantagevue.com/
I have not tried the Vantage Vue Wireless Integrated Sensor Suite (which combines a rain collector, a temperature sensor, a humidity sensor, and anemometer/direction vane into a single unit).
But I have been using a Vantage Vue wireless console/receiver for about two months without great satisfaction - my Vantage Vue console picks up the wireless weather data sent by my Vantage Pro2 Plus weather station.

Just curious if you still plan on releasing a beta this week with the wind cutoff.
Thanks.
