I just wanted to say thanks to all those that have posted info on this forum.

I recently decided to purchase a Davis VP2, and while researching the product I discovered Virtual VP.

When the device arrived I already knew how to configure everything to play nicely together thanks to this forum, so now I run VirtualVP, and through that I have Cumulus, Cumulus 2 and Weatherlink!

Steve, the new Cumulus release has a beautiful way of editing records, so much easier than in the past. I had a few dodgy readings around the changeover from my old weather stations, and they were a breeze (pardon the pun ) to correct in that form of database! So much easier than CSV's.

My only hiccup was Windows asked me to uninstall the previous version first, it would not let me install the new one over the top of the old, so i was nervous about losing data, but the program found all the existing data and just carried on. All I had to do was reconfigure the comm ports.

Awesome mate, well done!

Thanks, Peter :)

I'm currently forcing a manual uninstall of previous versions while it's in testing, but as you've spotted it preserves the database. But note that I can't guarantee that it will continue to preserve the database, as I may make breaking changes, at least until it gets to 'beta'.
