custom forecast : THANKS !

Post by aeropic »

Hi Steve,

I've just tested the new custom forecast "string.ini" file... It works like a charm.
Many thanks for this function which allows a first step into internationalization .

Alain

PS : in the string file for forecast, there is missing "not available"

Glad you like it, I might continue with it as the fancy takes me...

I realised that 'not available' was missing, but it's only there for a short time until the forecast appears (assuming you have the forecast switched on). I'll perhaps add it with the next batch.

Here is a first french translation of the strings file.

Sorry - when I put the forecast code in originally, I forgot to change the code for the WMR928 so that it could use it. I'll upload a fix later today.

Yes, the forecast webtag uses the same strings.

I have added this to the Cumulus Wiki, and will also include translations for all other languages shortly.

Tried using this, but it retains the original descriptions? Does it take a while for cumulus to recognize any edits to the strings.ini file? I've edited the original and the copy files but still reads "settled fine" ??

I assume - because it's an ini file, you would need to restart Cumulus for any changes to take effect.

Retsarted several times,no change, rebooted, no change. The data is current but the forecast still shows the old forecast words ie:settled fine ?? Where is it getting this from? I've named it strings.ini and have edited it. Must be doing something wrong here.

If you've restarted, assuming you've put the file in the right place, I can't think why it wouldn't work. If you upload your strings.ini file I'll have a look at it.

Just figured it out. The file name was strings.ini.ini . Now it works! Sorry to not have checked that!

Build 872 has this fix.

I've also added the moon phases to the list of strings that can be edited (and the words "Forecast" and "not available").
