How to make Cumulus to start automatically ?

Post by Eugen-Oradea »

Is there a way to make Cumulus software to start automatically after a power failure or after the PC is restarted ? I looked everywhere but I didn't find such an option.
Thanks, Eugen, Oradea.

Put a shortcut in your startup folder.

Shortcut of the Cumulus.exe or just plain Cumulus folder?
Thanks, Eugen.

A shortcut to the cumulus.exe. The easiest way is to copy the one that the installer creates in your Start menu.

Thanks a lot, it works.
And thank you once more for all the informations, now all the flaws are explainable.
By the way, as I understand you have a Davis VP2 with all the sensors, 6163 ?!
I would really go for that when my financial status will allow it.
If you have a Davis are you happy with it ?!
Can you tell me about the advantages or disadvantages of this system from your perspective ?!
I'm only interested in the solar, UV and 24h aspirated system ?!
I tried to find a brand to have similar features but I couldn't find.
Considering the price I guess this is the best offer.
Thanks, Eugen, Oradea.

Mine's just the 'standard' VP2 (6152), not the 'Plus', so no UV etc. I would like to get the Solar sensor for it at some point, but the UV sensor is such a ridiculous price that I don't think I'll bother with that.

I've been very happy with it, although I have had one or two problems where I had to replace parts, under warranty fortunately. It's not out of warranty, so I hope not to have any more problems for a while!

The main disadvantage compared to other systems is the cost! But it does seem to be much more accurate than the cheaper stations, and much less prone to 'bogus' readings.

Indeed, I have been using a Vantage Pro2 Plus with 24-Hour Fan-Aspirated Radiation Shield for about a year and a half without problem.

And, over the months, the station has proven its reliability.

The purchase of the station did required a larger financial investment but it was well worth it.
