How does Graphweather work? Does it need a file creating of a particular format?

It reads CSV files, but needs to be configured to read the files in the correct order. I have fallen at the first hurdle, in that I cannot get it to recognise the date/time files from Oct03log.txt!

I was going to have a play last night, but the website was in French, even when I clicked on Old Glory, so I gave up.

Oh WOW ...... this is serious s**t !

I've loaded Jan - Nov log files, and been playing - If you say Stats for current year (on top tab rather than graph progs) - go and make a cup of tea, or have a game of cards !

Runs on your PC,
Lots of pre-designed graphs / 'banners' / reports, all in XML and editable or create your own, (Don't ask me !), output of jpg and html, has it's own ftp utility.

Somewhere it seems to have its own forecast (found it on one of the templates)

Because it's XML template driven, you can create content / styles / language etc. etc.

I expect to see some of you flying with this and recreating the wheel !

.. Now if only I could understand how to get the rain working ...

My son has translated Graph Weather webpage.....
http://www.aguilmard.com/index.php?page=graphweatherphp
The webpage reads :

Télécharger (version beta) (8.8 Ko)
Cette version lit les fichiers history.dat WS2300 et remplit une base de données MySQL avec ses informations. Il est possible d'interroger la base pour tracer des graphiques

Download (Beta Version) (8.8 kb)
This version reads the file history.dat WS2300 and fills a base of given MySQA with their information. It is possible to question the base for plot the graphics.

Télécharger (version stable) (5.7 Ko)
Cette version charge les données history.dat de WS3600 dans une bases de données MySQL, mais ne trace pas de graphiques. Ce script m'a été fournit par Michel et Jean qui se reconnaîtrons.

Download (Stable Version) (5.7kb)
This version loads up the given history.dat of WS3600 in a base of given MySQL, but it doesn’t plot the graphics. The script was provided to me by Michel and Jean.

Télécharger (version stable) (41.9 Ko)
Cette version est prévue pour les stations WS7001. Le site de l'auteur Fabrice-38.

Download (Stable Version) (41.9kb)
This version is previewed by the stations WS7001. The author’s site.

This is what google says:
GraphWeather PHP Download (beta version) (8.8 KB)
This version reads the files history.dat WS2300 and fills a MySQL database with its information. It is possible to question the basis for drawing graphs.

GraphWeather PHP download (stable) (5.7 KB)
This version only reads the MySQL database for drawing graphs. You must configure the basic config.php.

GraphWeather PHP download (stable) (5.7 KB)
This version supports data from WS3600 history.dat in a MySQL database, but does not draw graphics. This script was provided to me by Michael and John who will recognize.

GraphWeather PHP download (stable) (41.9 KB)
This version is planned for stations WS7001. The author site Fabrice-38.

Ahh .. that's the PHP set up

The site is bit of a maze, here is the link for the (Win) PC downloads:

http://www.aguilmard.com/index.php?page ... n=download (I downloaded V2.0.281b) that's dated 2006

or you can go and search at sourceforge

The help page seems to show an old layout http://www.aguilmard.com/index.php?page ... on=startup , But if you click Tutoriaux, there are a couple of helpful 'videos' there, and there is also a link to a forum which has a (basic) section in English.

Most enquiries seem to be about the xml and the variables used.

Here is a translation of the first Link Betel provides
Requires:

# DirectX 9.0
# Graphics card (tested on Rage128, Radeon 9800Pro, Radeon Mobility)
# Processor 500Mhz or higher

GraphWeather Download GraphWeather V1.6.1 (French) (2610.6 KB)

GraphWeather Download GraphWeather V2.0.281b (French) (3702.4 KB)

GraphWeather Download GraphWeather V1.6.1 (English) (2612.1 KB)

GraphWeather Download GraphWeather V2.0.281b (English) (3704.4 KB)

Download GraphWeather sources gauges flash (1799.8 KB)
The code is rough and little comment. The package contains classes macromedia, and two projects FlashDevelop. Everything is written in Action Script 2.

UpdateDX9 If an error "d3dx9_29.dll not found" appears at the launch, download this update from Microsoft. (1513.2 KB)

UpdateDX9 If an error "d3dx9_27.dll not found" appears at the launch, download this update from Microsoft. (1441.1 KB)

Second Link:
Since version 1.5, GraphWeather has a Quick Start Wizard.

1 - Quick start:

Just follow the 3 steps indicating the station, the source file (history.dat, ws_pc.dat, file. WLK), and finally the type of chart (it is advisable to choose gradient.xml to start).

2 - Choice of plugins:

To choose another station or playback MySQL / CSV, go to Options> Preferences> Plugins.
Enter the following information:

# The plugin corresponding to the weather station (in the example WS2300.dll)
# The source file that is used by default (history.dat, ws_pc.dat, file. WLK,. Csv or database name MySQL)

It is possible to load 2 plugins optional, so have at most 3 stations working simultaneously.
One can imagine a main station WS2300, WS7001 Station in option 1, and finally playing a database with optional 2.

Screenshot

2 - Start Options:

Go to Options> Preferences> General

You can specify a stylesheet by default to be applied at startup (in the example gradient.xml).

You may have to start:

# A chart of recent 24h/48h
# A graph of last 24 hours recorded
# No document: "Do not display"

Use the "Start Minimized" to reduce GraphWeather in the taskbar at startup.

Check the option of automatic update for the graphics are updated automatically.

Thanks for that scotweather - I really haven't had time to play, but .....

Investigating the directories suggests

html templates (from prog)
php / htm templates (both from prog and uploaded data ?)
default and user data files for upload in various formats (inc. java and php ?)
a 'quick' realtime type data upload facility.
load via ftp or to local file.
some files / template load 'end of day' (haven't worked how it differentiates yet, or if editable)
etc. etc.

Anybody used this either in 'default' type setting, or even better designed / edited to their own graphs / data / layouts ?

Feed-back please !!

Scanman, I'm confused enough already :?

Code: Select all

  <stats_day_max_outdoor_temperature texture="img_modern_index_20x24_maxi.png" side="left" thick="9" axisdelta="0" />
  <stats_day_min_outdoor_temperature texture="img_modern_index_20x24_mini.png" side="left" thick="9" axisdelta="0" />
Those two graphics don't exist in the package I have, there may be more.

Edit: set 'Absolute Rainfall' to col 12, took a while to crack because MY col 12 value is 10x real amount (modified bucket) and had to apply correction in GraphWeather for that value only, now displays and totals OK, in fact I think I'd be inclined to dump Rain 24, and just have the pretty filled in 'peaks'.

I made those dials when I was running Graph Weather with WD, using VP2 data and it worked ok then, but obviously Cumulus handles data a bit differently.

Maybe this customisation will work better? Seems ok on my PC.
